Big East Tourney

Anyone who says it's hard not to like Patrick Ewing did not live through 1981-85.

Georgetown was hated then, Ewing at the top of the list, and their smug fans thinking their high academic standards made them superior humans to lowly St. John students  .

Totally disagree. G'town fans pale in comparison to Yukon or Syracuse fans. Or even Xavier or Seton Hall fans today.
And I was in the Garden that night during Ewings' freshman year, when those very same St. John's fans serenaded him with chants of Ewing can't read. (Copying the fans in Providence who chanted the same thing, then threw bananas at him). He then torched the Redmen in the game.

You have faulty memory. The providence event was not as large scale as you suggest and occurred in 1983.

I was there for every ewing sju home game, every bet, once in Landover,  and the final four.  Definitely the most hated opposing player, at least largely because he was so dominating on defense and anchored the hoya destroys thing

About time Patrick got credit for being a damn good coach. Works his ass off as a coach the same way he did as a player. Hard work is often rewarded and deservedly so, same as with our coach.

If we did manage to win against the Hall, can't see us beating GT the way they've been playing. Would've probably been worse knowing that winning that game would get a bid.

Georgetown's seniors are impressive. I wonder if they'll come back next season?

Paid his dues at the pro level but without college experience was still a big risk.    Still has a lot to prove at this point.

Georgetown giving it their all and showing they want it more than their opponents. An amazing run considering what they've been  through. Forgive me for being jealous, as they are being led by their prodigal son.

"Styles make fights."  I'm still a believer we could've and would've gotten 'em to play our style of game.  That's not to actually say we would've won, but I think we would've drawed 'em into playing our style which, of course, benefits us.

Wait until a mid-major like Loyola of Chicago wreck Georgetown next week in the dance.....

I stand corrected. And as a student at that time, (81-85), I also attended every home game and the Final Four. (Never made it to Landover).
I hated G'town with the heat of 1,000 suns. Now...not so much.  The Ewing Knicks years flipped me on him...and them. Unlike UConn which bolted for the door, G'town fought to keep the league together. Gotta admire that.

I never had any issues with Ewing.  It was just the team, several people I know who was quite annoying as Hoya fans, and them being our arch-rival.

Georgetown looks like a tournament team in this game. I think it's good for the Big East to get four teams in. The conference clearly has no great teams this season but most of the teams are a lot more competitive then are given credit for.

Im jealous too!   Georgetown is doing what I hoped we would have gone.

Embarassing performance be Creighton.

they're gonna be 13-12 after this. They won't be seeing a mid major. They'll be seeing probably a 3 or 4 seed in the first round

Being Georgetown is coming from a major conference, they won't be seeded that low.  Major conference teams do not receive 12 seeds or lower.

The lowest I see them seeded is around 11th and the highest being a 9th.  They could see a mid major like Loyola of Chicago, as I think they'll be a 7th seed.

There is no way they will be a 7 seed. Uconn won the big east  tourney in 2011 and they are way better than this Georgetown team and had a better season and they were a 9 seed in the NCAA tourney.
