Big East Tourney

Ewing has done a great job this year.  Caught a break with Nova injured, but still.

Wow!  Gtown wins!!
Villanova had a chance to deliver the knockout punch when they were up 10 and had the ball.  A bucket, particularly a three pointer, would've probably sealed the Hoyas' fate.  Georgetown came down and hit a three and was only down by 7, and that's when they kept nipping at their heels.

The difference in the game was FTs.  Georgetown was 23-23 and 'Nova was 14-22.  Villanova also really missed Gillespie as Arcidiacono barely looked at the basket.  I was already having fantasies of Posh harassing the shit outta Arch.

Great news for us
I'd rather play the Hoyas than Nova
Now, we've got to do our part and beat The Hall
GO JOHNNIES!!!

not great news for us.  Means we need to win the tournament to get a bid.

I disagree.  Lots of other games going on and lots of bubble losers.  We win today and tomorrow then we are in, however, the door is wide open.  Let's take one at a time and win the whole tournament.  That should be our mindset.  I will feel real good if we can beat SH.  Gtown should be a little more tired on Friday too.  Keep wininng.

Where does Nova get seeded on Selection Sunday?  Without Gillespie, they haven't looked good at all (they did at times today, but not often enough).  They can't be a top 4 seed, IMO.

Speaking in absolutes, eh?  I'm still under the belief that two wins will likely garner a bid.

Really?  If we make it to tommorrow, I can see Georgetown killing us on the glass, and that being the difference.  Plus, they're on the magic carpet ride right now, and will have a few hours extra rest.

Villanova is not a big team to begin with, and without Gillespie, would have been a better matchup, IMO.

I could easily see 'em ending up as a 5th seed, depending what occurs the next few days.

I've seen several opening round teams upset better teams in tournaments. Georgetown is on a roll and will be tough to beat Friday. They potentially could reach the final.

I hope SJ makes it to the semi-final. It should be a epic game against GT. Seton Hall against GT would be a great matchup too.

The Big East Tournament is giving fans some great games. There's a lot of talented coaches and players in the BE.

Go Johnnies!

Villanova, not a big team anyway, and without Gillespie, would have been a better matchup, IMO.
Georgetown will probably eat us up on the glass, but I can see us speeding 'em up and creating turnovers and getting extra possessions.

At this point in the season, I don't take it a game at a time, I take it a play at a time. Yes, makes for a very aggravating 2 or so hours.

Yikes....  Xavier is still looking for an opponent to play a game, in order to pad their resume'.  Maybe, they can field a game with Syracuse, lol.

I hope we get the opportunity to get obliterated by the Georgetown front court.

having a hard time sitting through Butler / Creighton.

Unlikely, but would make today a little better if somehow DePaul can pull off a  W vs Uconn

DePaul falling apart here.
DePaul is the best sorry team I ever seen.  There's no way this team with Moore, Weems, Freeman-Libery, and Pauly that they should only have 4 wins, all 4 of those guys could start for majority of Big East teams. They have the talent to compete with anyone, however they pick and choose when to show up, and when they face adversity they crumble.
No more evident than tonight vs. UCONN thus far. Facing any equally athletic team that plays very good defense and they are wasting most of clock dribbling and hoisting up low % shots.

The only good thing about this UConn game is that there are no fans this year for their return to the big east tournament. We can be certain the UConn fans would have packed the place and acted like it was their home court.

I'll feel better if Seton Hall reaches the finals. Makes losing to them in OT a little easier to take. They should be able to handle Georgetown.
UConn looks very impressive. Their game against Creighton should be interesting.
