BET - Xavier (1), Thur. Mar. 8, 12 Noon, FS1 / Radio TBD
I see Chris Mack blaming us for starting the scuffle. I'm not there, so I don't know who started what.... But, I have seen Xavier during some yapping in a few games this season and Macura is typically the "ring leader" of that bunk.

Oh, well....
Ahmed and Goodin jawing all game long. Saw that coming.

Really proud of this team. Thin bench and a lack of a legitimate big hurt.
Hate the early game after playing last night. Surprised our guys didn't have to wear weighted backpacks.

I'd cut Ahmed some slack, that was probably his last game as a collegian. Some emotion probably.

Looking forward to next season. Can't stand Chris Mack.

Really too bad season had to end with that kind of loss. Xavier was just way too tough for us today and I expect we were a bit mentally and physically bit drained after last night's game. This team gave us some great moments and this game doesn't change that. Let's get core four back and next year we'll build on this one and make the big dance!

Considering “LoVettgate” kudos to staff & players for hanging tough & getting some nice wins. Easy team to root for.

Sentiment aside, time for staff to kick ass on recruiting trail & add a wing and a big. Also, we better line up a great 19 class or we will slip back after current Juniors depart. It appears they will add an experienced assistant coach, but at this point priority #1 is increasing the talent level next year & replenishing the following. It is all about having good & enough players.

There's no way Yawke isn't playing because he doesn't deserve minutes. Something is going on. Oh well, doesn't matter. He'll be playing more minutes and earn a graduate degree from a better school next year. Disappointed he saw nothing today, but our walk on did. Mullin and co. Get burned again in the second game of the BET. Horrible way to end the season.

Needless to say it was a very disappointing season, but give credit to the men for playing their hearts out all year.

Next year will be very crucial. After 3 straight years with a losing record, it's NCAA tournament or bust. If we fail to make the tournament in year 4, a coaching change MUST be made!

Top coach in BE arguably, would take a guy like him in a heart beat

Graduate degree? I think he’ll be sitting out a year.

Didn't think it was necessary of Chris Mack to place the blame on our guys, especially since he has no idea what happened. Not too serious though, they put him on the spot and it was the heat of the moment.

Ok so I am out of the arena. Feel very similar to a year ago. Last year we got beat down for two half’s and this season one half. End result feels very similar. The Xavier fans aren’t as bad as the Nova fans but very little solace in that. I was a Freshman in high school when we went to the Final Four and the last 15+ years as a fan are starting to really age me. I will be back again next season but I am secretly hoping that my son now a Freshman in high school loses this habit when he goes off to college outside of Queens. Not much more to say at this point, and I will save my thoughts for a season wrap up post. One thing that is eating me right now and of course we all have many is how do you run a pro offfense when you shoot so poorly from 3? Anyway there were a number of fun times this season and I want to thank all of my fellow posters for keeping me informed and giving me some good laughs.

First of all Jones had a big smile on his face when it appeared he made a comment to Ahmed.

Doubt it. Perfect MAAC player, might even get burn on a team like Fordham. Shocked he didn't get any minutes after we played a tough game 15 hours prior.

Nah, he’s immediately eligible. I’m just not sure where he’s going. I don’t think a power 5 team will take him, and he’s not allowed to go to another big East school ( I believe).

Nope don't want anyone coaching a team I like that would recruit Maccura. And don't give me that if he was on my team I would love him. If he was on ST John's I would become a Seton Hall fan. Not sure how coach K missed Maccura

Great coach, but Macura is a dick. Maybe he hid his dickishness when Mack recruited him.
I have not written a single word about the refs all season. But they let Simons get hacked early on with no call, Amar hacked with a layup on the way, and just let a walk go on the putback. Not right.
You're absolutely correct!

I am very proud of this team. Every guy played their hearts out. They never quit on each other. They gave their all, and you can't ask for more than that. Today they looked a step slow. maybe playing last night had something t0 do with that.
I think Ponds played a gutsy game today. A couple of times the TV camera revealed the discomfort he seemed to be in. This team will always hold a special place in my heart. Starting off with a 0-11 BE start would have taken the heart out of most teams and coaching staffs but they played on like champions. None should hang their heads. They did themselves, the coaching staff and the school proud.
THIS IS A SPECIAL TEAM.

Chris Mullin on Xavier: "They're just a tough team to play under any conditions. The turnaround is what it is...that's what you get for coming in ninth." #SJUBB
