BET - Xavier (1), Thur. Mar. 8, 12 Noon, FS1 / Radio TBD

Down four at the half, 33-29. Still within reach. Only 4 pts from Shamorie in the first half. If he heats up, we're in this thing...

4 pt game at half. Could be worse with all the foul trouble and Ponds not having a good half. Let’s have a second half like last night and we can win this

With the way Macura plays, with that clear out arm on offense and hacking style on defense, he would be on his ass within 5 minutes on the playgrounds I played on growing up. And I lived in Queens.

Guys look a little tired. Understandable.
Cole doing well.

Ponds looks beat, not as quick as usual. X playing him tough as well.

Owens just picked up his 4th in locker room.

All things considered, we are extremely lucky to be this close. We got two 3's from Simon, one from Alibegovich, and that one fadeaway 3 from Clark. In addition to the foul trouble which forced us to use a walk on (why over Trimble?) and Ponds not able to pick it up (credit to Xavier, they seem to have a great plan to cover him), we could easily be down double digits.

I think the kids took a great punch in the first half. Second half, they counter. No way did I think they would be down only four with Ponds shooting like he did.

Find a way to Friday.

I am amazed we are this close playing with no Owens, a bit Bashir, and Ponds lacking his usual intensity.
Nevertheless, the missed fouls by Xavier players and the quick calls on us has made it much steeper climb For
Of our starters lasting the second half.

I know it's meamingless, but Yakwe is money in warm ups today.

Alas, I figure Mullin will call me down from Section 107 before Yakwe gets the nod.

Xavier outscored us 11-4 from line. We need to limit their trips to line in second half. Not sure Ponds is physically able to score a lot today. Maybe use him as a decoy and hope Simon, Clark & Ahmed can all give us some second half offense. Can't ask for more than this - 4 point halftime deficit at Garden.

Linfonte ahead of him in depth chart
We've entered the danger zone. Still plenty of time remaining, though.
We're hanging tough despite our obstacles, but man Xavier is a good team and so well coached and disciplined. Would need our best day to beat them.
