No replay shown at msg.  Was there a foul at the end?

I was near a TV at MSG.  I think it was, but I also think that if Nova does it that to one of our guys, they get away with it.  I've seen refs swollow their whistles on worse, but letter of the law, I thought it was a foul.

My last post tonight, F the NIT means nothing. My freshman year 88-89 it meant something we had most of our team coming back. Now in they age of kids leaving ? Means nothing to me. As bad as this game was the ending it never should have come to this if we didnt throw the season away with some horrible play. Nothing against the kids I wish them the best but this season sucked

Insane anyone here would have a problem with a play drawn up for your best player to get a wide open 3.

Refs were atrocious and the lane violation was a death sentence. As soon as that happened I knew the game would be decided by that 1 point from an absolute bush league call.

I don't recall a replay ever shown for the lane violation.

Correct. We never saw a replay of the violation.

The team played well tonight and should be proud.  For those saying coach did a great job drawing up a play to get a 23 foot jump shot with 20 seconds left maybe giving too much credit.  There was no way Villanova was firing up a 20+ foot jumper for the win.  They were going to pound the ball down low and crash the boards.  Too much at stake to draw up a play for a 23 foot jump shot.  That is a great call at the end of the half but not the end of the game.

No need to pile on the obvious.  But about 5-7 net points, maybe a bit more, were lost tonite due to the press.  Once the press is broken it leaves 2 Johnnies spent and useless in the backcourt, so now it's 4 on 3 Villanova.  Anybody who has run the 11 man drill in hoops practice knows now the offense has the advantage.  The nova player with the ball drives, and the weak side Johnnie collapses into the paint to defend the hoop, leaving his guy wide open on weak side perimeter.  Disciplined nova guy knows this and kicks out to that guy for wide open three.  Happened at least three times, perhaps four.  That is literally ballgame.  The press is dramatically great and gives short term momentum when guy like Gillespie gets trapped and loses ball as happened tonite. But over 40 minutes vs. a top tier team, it is a net loss.

If Posh, Wusu, Soriano, Nyiwe, Pinzon, and Stanley could look the staff in the eye and say they are 100 percent back, then I think we should play the game(s) and give them the bulk of whatever minutes there are.

I'm afraid the NIT is like a crap bowl game where any guy looking to get drafted is a possibility to sit out. Or worse, half-ass it.

If it wasn’t for bad luck we would have no luck at all! On the other hand it seems that Villanova has nothing but good luck starting back in 1984 when they won the championship! We beat them 3 times that year and because we got screwed having to play Georgetown in the semis we are out. Who does Villanova draw Memphis! Give me a break! Good luck! Jenkins makes that last second shot against Carolina they win! Good luck wouldn’t you say! We put up a last second shot to win today what do we get a f—cking air ball! Bad luck!
I don’t know what this program did but we are being paid back with 22 years of Bad luck! We all better go to church and say a few Rosary’s for this program! I wish this season would end today I am tired of being in a bad bad mood! Later my friends!

Include wheeler in that group also LJSA

I said pregame give me a game and don’t do another Thursday crapfest. They did, they played great. The team who left it all out there lost. The better team won.

Recruit, recruit, recruit. CMA knows but it’s all about getting more talent in.

Ambien hasn't kicked in yet so I'd like to congratulate my buddy JB who has season tickets with us but only goes to MSG in 114 for a few games because of covid but he's a nova fan first he went to school there so like he said tonight " Mike I'm bummed for the Johnnies but being a Nova Fan makes the pain less "

Referees: Lamar Simpson, Nathan Farrell, Jeff Anderson.

Shame on them.

Good teams make their own luck. Thus season was bad ,only because Anderson and staff were unable to draft higher rank players that could shoot the rock. We all know how we feel about UConn ,but they have a much better coach who an recruit top talent  Looking at them looks like they at can shoot and that was our downfall.
we should give Anderson one more yr, if it is the same all same all next yr Think school should be coach hunting
This loss was devastating

Staff mismanaged game ending, Champ misses big shot, story of season. What could Anderson have done to change the outcome? How about instead of a champ outside shot, tell one player to drive and everyone else hit the glass….. that’s how Nova won.

there’s a reason they have lost every close conference game this year…. And it’s not the players. The ending was a microcosm of the season, poor end game coaching and our best player falling short.
So, the staff designs a play to get your best player a wide open shot…and they mismanaged the play? Look at it again. Do you know why he was wide open? Because Nova had clogged the lane expecting a Posh drive.
We all know that you want a coaching change. With this one, you just sound silly.
Clearly you didn’t watch the end of the game. Posh  never looked to drive,  Wusu downscreened for Champ who put up a three? Why a three, Champ was 1-6 from three and Posh just ran the play. Whether the lane was clogged or not had nothing to do with it so don’t make things up to make a point.

After we lost that home game to Creighton I told myself I wasn’t gonna sucked into caring about this team. How do they manage to rope me in every single time before of course slitting my throat in the end? It is uncanny.

i look at my other favorite sports team, the New York jets, at least they’ve had the decency the last decade to never get my hopes up

Let him tell it, he's coached top flight grassroots teams for several years back in the day. Dude is a wack job.
