(Baha Mar Hoops) #13 Baylor, Thu., Nov. 21, 7p, CBSSN

Zuby looked so distraught feel reallly bad. Kid played great. I am glad Rick stuck up for him.

Two ways to look at it, they blew it and should be down.

Another way to look at is Baylor hit two 3's and neither were remotely easy and 1 was a bit of a gift from the clock operator. I mean neither was bad defense.

Need to bounce back tomorrow likely playing Virginia.

That felt like an NCAA Sweet 16 Tourney game, just would have been better if they won.

Heartbreaking loss, but let's be proud of our boys fellas. They played their tails off against a legit team. This felt like a really good Elite 8 or Sweet 16 game. Rally and bounce back tomorrow.

As bad as the loss stings, lots of good to take away from this performance.

I’m glad that Baylor is a ranked team as this loss shouldn’t hurt our resume but in reality, I don’t think they are at all worthy of their ranking. Their defense in the first half was non existent and while it improved in the second half, they just don’t seem that good.I see at least 4-5 Big East teams capeable of beating them.

In terms of Edgecombe, great athlete, not a good shooter, not a great handle….. don’t see him as a one and done at all.

That’s all well and good but we have had decades of close but no cigar games, it’s time to win.

You misspelled Final Four Game

Zuby is our worst free throw shooter? I think he's like the 5th or 6th best free throw shooter on the team. And last time I checked you have to have 5 guys on court.

Whatever the case, I'm going to go with the instincts of the guy whose won two championships and 800 plus games over the "nonsense" of some guy whining on a message board.
The villain here is Smith not taking the inbound pass. People who think "Lefteris should have been out there instead of Zuby" maybe have a point but Zuby made four in a row before that.

We are in a much better place than we’ve been since at least Lav’s first year (probably longer) and Pitino obviously has a great resume but he made some head scratching decisions tonight most notably sitting Smith for so long during Baylor comeback, leaving Zuby in for that last out of bounds play and running that crazy play when we’d not really had great trouble in bounding most of the night. Also why make that statement about Glover and not play
him at all?
Need to win tomorrow night to avoid another bad start. Scott needs to start. I’m off to bed if I can only fall asleep!
Glover is not remotely ready to play in a game like that last night. Maybe tonight if we are way ahead.

Got your money's worth game.

Lots of positives. Lots to work on.

Yard stick game. Against a team that is in the discussion for a national championship, it took two overtimes and a buzzer beating three as the margin between win and loss. Play that last sequence from the free throws on 10 times, and we win 8.

Same old Johnnies losing? If you believe that, please do yourself a favor and pick another sport to watch, because you don't understand or appreciate basketball beyond the final score.

How about this for a stat. For a team/program that prides itself on defense, the Johnnies let Baylor score 69 points after half time? 47 in the second half. Not good by anyone’s standards. Team must bounce back and win the next two or it may just be the same old Johnnies team.

As we so painfully witnessed last season, a Dance invite has much to do with your OOC performance that’s why these next two games are most important. And yes Beast, come judgement day, Selection Sunday, it will be about the “ final score”.

But the bottom line is that the game came down to those two free throws and he missed both. Blame goes to Pitino or if you trust Pitino’s coaching….. then Zuby.
Don’t disagree. My point is the team missed 12 of 28 free throws, 57% from the line. Missed 8 free throws in the 2nd half. Missed 4 free throws in both OTs. A collective effort that allowed Baylor to steal the game.

The morning after:

Feel sorry for Zuby, who played a great game.

Free Throw hex has plagued StJ for decades, it seems, inexplicably

Team has loads more talent and players who can step up than last year and previous, but have to learn how to step on the throat and win

Guys have to probably work out among themselves who "the man" or "men" are going to be - Luis seemed to have disappeared for long strech of this game (probably just defended well)

Richmond is perplexing (he seems disinterested, makes some lousy plays and passes, short on many free throws, but makes some plays and compiles some stats that seem that he played OK - my eyes tell me he's been disappointing for the most part, my head says he hasn't been that bad (and liked that he played hurt at end)

Got to stretch the lineup, can't play double OT w/ only 6 guys playing most of the minutes

Not qualified to critique the coach, but I have like, many, some legit ???

Woulda been a HUGE win, but there will be plenty of good games. Think it will still be a really good season

Think the guys come out very strong tonight - could go either way, but I think they will be inspired to make good
