If you guys think attendance is bad now wait until all this conference jumping is done. MSG will be a ghost town except for UConn and Gtown games.
Sales will go down, hype way down, and our attendance will be like DePaul.

JAMAICA, N.Y. -- "St. Johns freshman point guard Omar Cook (Brooklyn, N.Y./Christ the King) scored a game-high 25 points, connecting on six three-pointers, grabbed a team-best seven rebounds and handed out a game-high eight assists in his first game at Alumni Hall, leading the Red Storm to an 86-80 win over the California (Source) All-Stars in front of 5,438 fans on Friday night. Cook was one of four players in double figures for St. Johns and one of nine players to score."
I remember sitting in the exhibition crowd that night thinking we had the best lead guard in America. I also thought, coming off a BE Championship, we were back for the long haul.
Lav makes me feel we can make it all the way back
I remember going to the Duke/SJU game at MSG that year and Jay Williams making Omar Cook look like a junior varsity player. We got annihilated that game. And Duke alumni packed the Garden. Sickening experience that day.
Give any school the basketball success of Duke and you will draw crowds anywhere.

I think it should be a requirment to attend games before you can moan about our attendance woes.
Great crowd tonight. I was seated opposite the SJU bench with about 50 Australian high school students touring the US to playt basketball. The kids really knew basketball, and were cheering like mad for SJU. The crowd was into the game - students showed up loudly, and the place was alive.
Makes me think that if LAvin can continue to grow this program, it doesn't matter what becomes of the Big East, fans will fill this place.

Carnesecca really needs to change the seating around. Move the student section to the side like Duke. Make the fans closer to the game. It's too distant right now. The student section is like 10 feet up. It really makes it a much better atmosphere and fans can influence the game a lot more and be heard easier.
theres an aussie high school called box hill out on staten island scrimmaging a few of the local boys and girls teams. Wonder if same group.Great crowd tonight. Best thing about the kids is that they were really a well behaved group. The kids behind me knew the NBA as well as any American fan, speaking about Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups, and players who might be lesser known. They definitely use the same profanity as American kids, for sure. Funniest thing one of the boys said to the girls was regarding the Broadway show they are going to this weekend. He said something like, "Didn't you read the reviews online about Jersey Boys? It's BREATHTAKING!" Actually, really nice to see our program can hold the interest of some kids from across the globe.
