Attendance

Great crowd tonight. I was seated opposite the SJU bench with about 50 Australian high school students touring the US to playt basketball. The kids really knew basketball, and were cheering like mad for SJU. The crowd was into the game - students showed up loudly, and the place was alive.

Makes me think that if LAvin can continue to grow this program, it doesn't matter what becomes of the Big East, fans will fill this place.

Dunlap used to coach in Austrailia

hmmmmmmmmm

I bumped into one kid who was about 6'8" from that group.

Best thing about the kids is that they were really a well behaved group. The kids behind me knew the NBA as well as any American fan, speaking about Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups, and players who might be lesser known. They definitely use the same profanity as American kids, for sure. Funniest thing one of the boys said to the girls was regarding the Broadway show they are going to this weekend. He said something like, "Didn't you read the reviews online about Jersey Boys? It's BREATHTAKING!" Actually, really nice to see our program can hold the interest of some kids from across the globe.
theres an aussie high school called box hill out on staten island scrimmaging a few of the local boys and girls teams. Wonder if same group.

Yes, it's the same group. Box Hill Secondary College is the name of the school, and they are from near Melbourne. Wiki calls it an elite sports school
