Assistant Coaches

Think they have someone in mind, just not sure if he should be named an AC or DOBO or AD.

An athletic director and an assistant basketball coach are two very different jobs. I find it hard to believe that they would be deciding on which position to offer this person.
Really? Thanks for the info! And thanks for detecting my light sarcasm!

Please refer to my previous post about his complete inability to recognize sarcasm ever, and how painful it is to witness. Thank you.

so you were being sarcastic there too! Now I get it!! Thanks!!

@CoachRNaclerio: Just got a phone call from a person who just signed on to be a part of the St. John's basketball staff. Real good guy, real good get.

Any ideas who he's talking about?

Hopefully himself.

So you want a HS coach nicknamed Nutsy to fill the vacant spot? Hmm. That's a long, long way from an Eddie Pinckney.

Has Mike Rice been mentioned by anyone? He's going to get break soon.

I wouldn't hire him to coach a CYO team

I would not hire him to coach a cyo team, but I'd hire him as a college assistant.

Would you send Rice out on the recruiting circuit representing your school?
The man is absolutely nuts and wrapped tighter than a drum
No thanks - don't want him here

Louie Orr ?????

All jokes aside, Louis Orr would be a assistant fantastic coach. Level headed game-time manager who is a high character guy. I bet Seton Hall rues the day they thought their were greener pastures elsewhere.

I don't question that Orr is a high character guy
But when he was a head coach, he looked like he was falling asleep on the bench
Around 57 years old - probably not terribly interested in the recruiting circuit
Not a very successful head coach (12-20 last year at Bowling Green)
Probably not a great x and o guy
No thanks - I'd rather have a hungry up and coming younger guy than a older retread
