Virginia in a battle at Georgia Tech. A G Tech win really helps our RPI. The Georgetown game is ugly so far 13-12 Butler in 12+ minutes of play.

Virginia blew the doors of G Tech in the last ten minutes.

Georgetown wins 71-63.

Providence/Xavier on FS1. Both teams desperately need this game, I hope providence pulls it out.

6 minutes left, gtown holds a bigger lead 58-51.

No way dude! If Providence wins, we are basically eliminated from getting the third seed. I'd much rather Xavier win, because they have the much tougher remaining schedule and we get them at home to bring it within one game.

Why would we be eliminated? If providence wins, they are 7-4, if Xavier wins they are 6-4. Literally the same thing except providence has played more games.

If Xavier loses they are a lackluster 5-5 and we can pull within a half a game tomorrow night.

I understand what you're thinking, but there are pros and cons of both these teams winning.

As far as SOS goes, both these teams play the exact same teams down the stretch, excluding us.

Both teams have one game against Nova, Creighton, DePaul, seton hall, Georgetown, Marquette.

Whoever loses this game is going to be on the outside of the bubble, and I'd rather it be the team we haven't beaten this year.

I think Xavier has the stronger resume. Providence, Georgetown and St. John's battling for one or two spots. Need to win the next three to get the inside spot going down the stretch.

If Providence won they would have been in the driver's seat at 7-4 and would have been 2-0 against Xavier, 1-0 against Gtown, and 1-1 with us. The tie-breakers don't look good for us.
Xavier has FIVE road game left and 2/3 of their remaining home games are Creighton and Nova. They very likely have 3-4 losses remaining and, perhaps most importantly, we have some control as we play them at home. We are done with Providence. Xavier ends the season: @Gtown, @SJU, Creighton, @SH (who just beat them at home), and Nova. Ouch.

Xavier's win helps St. John's, who now has some control of its own destiny with Xavier and Gtown to play at home.

BYU nipped San Francisco. A San Francisco win would have been helpful.

@NJHoopsHaven: Big East Player of the Week is Villanova's James Bell. Big East Rookie of the Week is St. John's Rysheed Jordan.

Interesting question. Sheed was picked as Freshman of the Year. As we hit the final stretch. Is he?

Probably in good position to catch Garrett of DePaul, since DP going down tubes.

Right now, I still think he's behind Garrett. But you're right, Paultzman, I think Rysheed can catch him. Amazing how few impact freshmen there are in the (new) Big East this year.

Doesn't nova have a decent frosh?

Ennis is a transfer

Hart.

The kid that kept getting to the basket against us.

I like his game.

He's talented but I haven't heard his name mentioned as having made that big a splash. Garrett seems to be the most hyped. Rysheed has come along of late and I hope for more from him in the coming weeks.
