Melvin has been by far their best player every time we have played them. Weird to see him have this issue so late in his senior season.

Georgetown/Prov on FS1 now.

If the hoyas win, both of these teams are 6-6 in conference, meaning we could tie both of them Thursday.

So I hope hoyas win this one.

Interesting take on the standings. I was thinking I'm more concerned about Georgetown going forward and a loss tonight would be good. I think Providence has a tough finish and will drop off.

now that we are in the "bubble" discussion, there are a few games tonight featuring teams that have similar records to SJU and a loss by those teams could help move us closer to the "inside" of the bubble instead of the outside....

Miami (11-12) vs. Florida State (14-9) - GO CANES!
Iowa St. (18-4) vs. West Virginia (14-10) - GO CYCLONES!
Maryland (14-10) vs. Virginia (19-5) - GO CAVS!

That is true, Georgetown is certainly surging much like us. But Georgetown has a very hard schedule for the rest of the year, playing us, nova, Creighton, Xavier, and have to go on the road to Marquette. While Georgetown has been rising in the standings, they have yet to beat anyone in conference. With five wins, they have swept butler and DePaul for four wins, and beaten us

The MSU win put them on the bubble, but they have yet to beat anyone significant in conference, unlike this providence team.

I have to go back and chcke the schedules. I didn't realize Georgetown had all of those left. I think PC has 3 losses left in them. With 7 wins, one against Creighton, they are in a pretty good position right now.

@CasualHoya: Bryce Cotton the one guy Hoyas need to stop. He has 19 points at half as Hoyas trail 36-32.

McD may be best player in BE, but Cotton is MVP when you consider what he does for undermanned PC.

Scary moment, Starks of Georgetown goes down holding his knee.

EDIT: he looks alright, walked off the floor, and just rose to his feet during a Georgetown and one. Good to see him alright, you never want to see a seniors campaign cut short by a knee injury. As we all know (DJ)

Georgetown pulled it out. I was flipping back and forth to the Olympics but it seemed like batts getting in foul trouble signaled the end. You can't just go 6 deep and expect to win consistently. I think providence fades down the stretch.

Not sure where to put this but Omari getting a lot of minutes against Kansas tonight. Bringing up lots of SJ talk. First they talked about the game last night. Both Brent and Fran were impressed with the Redmen. Then, since Omari's getting more mins than usual and even scoring a little bit they pointed out that the coach that originally recruited him and coached him was on the other bench. I changed the channel quickly. Just kidding.

How about his knee bothers him and then he feels 100% on Sunday evening at about 9:15 pm. :)

Xavier a pick 'em @ Butler tonight.
SH laying 2 against Marquette.

Let's go Butler!
It's possible that SJU could be third in the conference if they beat SH and Gtown. Gtown is a scary team for us. Hopefully they pick up a loss soon to stop their roll.

For some reason Gtown always smokes us.
