“@Kieran_Lynch: Big East Media Day will take place Oct. 16 at Chelsea Piers per a release. #sjubb”

@jeffborzello: Four-star forward Paul White committed to Georgetown on his official visit this morning, per a source.

G'town is bringing in a solid '14 class. I had the chance to see White play during the summer. A solid player who seems to have good upside.

I know he had a bad arm injury at the Peach Jam. I'm assuming he's recovered from it.

@insidemdsports: If you follow recruiting, you'll think I'm crazy. But I'm hearing #DePaul may be a legit sleeper for the JaQuan Lyle-Cliff Alexander duo.

Okafor should join them.

I'd love to see that happen. DePaul is a real laggard in this league, and nothing cures their ills more than some recruiting success.

On the same note, the Big East in this early recruiting period is really cleaning up recruiting-wise. Recruiting has picked up a ton for our league overall it seems. Should We land Whitehead, we certainly will join that success. Who'd have thought that those schools bolting would help our recruiting overall and our ills might be cured by them leaving? Just look at the recruiting successes of Marquette, Georgetown, St. johns, Nova and now Providence, Xavier and even Seton Hall landing top 50 kids. Teams like Creighton, Butler and DePaul seem to be lagging a little bit, but Creighton poised to be good as a team this year and those schools should start making inroads with the new league affiliation.

It seems apparent that the defection of all those schools isn't going to hinder our recruiting and drawing talent as a league overall. It seems to have turbocharged it.

McDermott stat line:
37 points
15/25 FG
5/10 3 point FG
7 rebounds

He is beyond NBA ready.

What's his athleticism like? nba athlete?

Not a standout but he gets around fine. I think his biggest problem will be position wise. He's perfect for a college 4 but he's not quite big enough to bang and not finesse enough for the wing in the pro game. I think his spot is as an off the bench scorer.
