DePaul recently hired Shane Heirman as an assistant coach. Heirman was Campbell's coach at La Lumiere School (Indiana) the last two seasons.

If we go back and few years, Lavin hired Monday Hicks as DOBO. Now technically, Hicks could not recruit. But don't you think recruits knew Hicks was on staff, and they would be around him every day.
Yet, people here were upset with the hire because they claimed that singling out Hicks would cause other HS coaches to become upset or jealous which would actually hurt recruiting.
Point is, there isn't an exact science here. But, feel free to any and all who want to stop by and reiterate the death of SJU basketball every time a player over 6-6 picks another school instead.

That last paragraph is exactly what MOST of us have been saying about St. John's situation. Not like we have been asking for a 5 star like talent, just a serviceable big. Let's just hope we don't rue the day we passed on what Fun called the big gollum (kid that went to USF).

Funny thing, I actually watched his HS team play last year at MSG in the championship game of the Dicks Sporting Goods HS National Championship. I was there assisting the NY Newsday photographer, maybe I should have worn a St. john's shirt LOL
