Someone's gotta stop watching the Mets and get us a BIG.

Northern Illinois big man Marin Maric has pulled out of the Draft and will head to Depaul. Impact big man for the Blue Demons, grad transfer

Jeff Borzello
Northern Illinois graduate transfer Marin Maric is headed to DePaul, source told ESPN. 6-foot-11. 14.4 PPG, 8.4 RPG. First by @ebosshoops.

Wow.

Isn't DePaul also involved with a 5 star for this class? We can't count on them being the last place team anymore if a couple more things break their way.

DePaul is getting an impact Big and we can't even get a visit. This is comical. The school should pay someone from this site to find a big, on these threads there must have been over 70 mentioned.

Maybe he likes the Midwest? He prepped in Indiana and has been in Illinois for a few years. Maybe he has a Croatian girlfriend who he doesn't want to leave behind and the 68 miles from NIU to DePaul seemed reasonable?

Maybe he wanted a Gf from Poland instead of Albania? Maybe we never seriously reached out since he had declared for the draft? Maybe we should just charge it to the recruiting game?

Stop with the logic, it's too much for some.

How about we stop with the hyperboles. I was all for being patient and see what develops, but these "rational" posts; which come off as a bunch of excuses, only exacerbate the frustration some are feeling, for not even being mentioned with any relevant 4's and 5's.

Logic????? You mean excuses!!!!! But I'm in the camp that says we don't need no fing big, what with our All-American front line. There is still time but with all these transfers bigs if we don't get one by next season it is an epic failure by the staff.

The point is that recruiting isn't easy and you aren't always going to get what you want. I would love a big for next season, but I'm not going to keep crying about it. It's not from a lack of trying from Matt A, that's for sure.

Wonder if we will take a look at 16-year-old, 7-foot-7 Robert Bobroczky. After spending the past two years with Italian club Stella Azzurra he is in the United States. This where Amar Alibegovic and Federico Mussini can play a role.  BTW, Robert has the longest neck I've ever seen on a human.

Scekic will score more next season at USF than this kid will in his entire college career.

Realistically speaking, for someone who was considering the draft like this kid is, doesn't DePaul have something we don't have? A starting spot and basically unlimited minutes? We don't have either to offer this kid or any other big.

Did I miss something? Who is our starting center that is scaring off recruits?

I don't see how Tariq Owens doesn't have a starting job on this team.

Any grad transfer big who was realistically considering his draft status would start for St Johns next year. Key word, realistically.

I get the thought process, but take a look at Xavier. They probably landed the best big man transfer in the Big East and maybe one of the top big man transfers in the nation. Are we to believe that Xavier had more playing time to offer?

There are many factors that go into our recruiting struggles. At the end of the day, our staff simply did not get the job done this cycle. I am in full support of Mullin and staff but it's just a fact that they did a bad job here.

What position and when did he earn it?
As for not seeing it, be careful: ;)
