I heard from a buddy of mine who is a G'Town grad & donor that Tommy Amaker's name is on the list. They should get Gregg Marshall from Wichita St, but only after they go to the AAC. :p :p :p

If you are a big time coach how much of a factor would the looming presence of John Thompson be in deciding whether or not to take the job there? Recent article stated that former players are still scared of him.

doug gottlieb is a tweeb and this move means his CBS Sports Minutes on the WFAN should end.

Thank you.

Actually they ended when he joined Fox earlier this week whether he gets the Ok St job or not.

Maybe they will hire JTIII. Wouldn't that suck for a college hoops program to have their former coach covering their games...

If I were the Georgetown AD my short list would be:

Danny Hurley, and

Archie Miller,

I like Otis' suggestion better than this one. Tom Crean, former coach at Indiana. High profile but probably not the sure fired winner Georgetown is looking for.

I think Crean is a great coach, with plenty of great years left. He can be a force there. He's only 50 years old, with tons of experience. He's a surefire winner. Archie Miller and Hurley also great choices, they can be monstrous successes. At his still young age though, Crean is a home run and almost no risk.

Crean Is an average coach and a good recruiter. Absolutely not a home run hire. Perhaps for a program like DePaul, definitely not for Georgetown.

I think Miller and Marshall are the only true home runs. Hurley is a question mark

Agree that Crean would be a good fit for DePaul. Pretty good coach, good recruiter, strong Midwest ties. There may be better coaches out there, but don't think they would want to touch that toxic program.

Beat a 6, 3 & a 2. 3rd Elite 8 in school history. My players will remember forever. Don't ever let someone tell you - you can't. Thanks 95!
