Around the Big East

Off Topic: UConn goes down to Oklahoma State. That makes it 1-3 for Huskies in first four games. Worse starts in ages.

In that Creighton win, they hit 16 threes. They give up a lot of points, but a fun watch. The freshman in the middle, Patton, is a from Omaha I believe & although a bit thin, looks like a very good catch over four years.

The Big East has a combined record of 33-7 through the first week and a half of the season. New rendition of league looks beyond healthy.

Stating the obvious, but not easy making NBA roster.

.@TheMadAnts announce @BenBentil has left team to pursue overseas playing opportunities.

Georgetown is 2-4 for the season, but incredibly has lost 14 out of their last 18 games.

Last one surprising

Great wins and I firmly believe that if we had Marvin Clark and Justin Simon we could be 6-0 right now. Just those two replacing Owens and Ellison would have made a huge difference.

When does the coaching staffs love affair with Ellison end?

On November 15th 2017 at the earliest. At present he is the only guard we have over 6 feet tall. He is the only guard we have who weighs more than 160 lbs and as we have seen the last 2-3 games the pt of AA, RF and DW has really been reduced. We are an 8 man roster at best.
He is played out of necessity.
I don't even want to bring up the fact that his dad is a high school
Coach in Jersey which is a very fertile recruiting ground the next few years. No reason to piss him off. Like Malik or not he will play this season.

I was actually encouraged by his play as last season progressed. He abandoned the 3-pt shot, and consistently drove the basket, which resulted in FTs. And he's a very good at the line. So that development seemed to be a positive, and I thought he developed nicely. But I'm surprised that growth has not continued into this season. I only hope that as he gets more playing time, that same development curve continues this season.

Serious question because I have no idea, does Pervis have any decent players that we would be recruiting? The fact Malik is over 6 ft means nothing, as he doesn't get more rebounds then Ponds and Lovett anyway.

Yeah, but we don't.

Don't look now but former Big East member Rutgers is 6 and 0 with second yr coach after finishing 7 and 25 last year
I think this is his first year there

First year coach, actually, Steve Pikell. He will turn it around there. I don't think they are Big 10 contenders this year (the best team they've played is Depaul), but that hire was as close to a sure thing as they could get.
