What makes a program great is to consistently yr after yr bring in high quality and top recruits. You can not have a good recruiting yr then average ones over the next 5 yrs Hope Mullin can make us a great program again

I wonder why Butler is ranked so high? Seton Hall and Marquette will probably be better this year than the bulldogs.

Xavier is a top 10 team this year with Myles Davis.

That's a big loss. Georgetown now seems to be the team with the most interior size and strength.

I agree. Seton Hall and Providence still have a lot of talent and I expect Georgetown to be this years sleeper I think we have the talent to keep with those teams but not sure about the experience.

This shows how tough it will be for SJU to rise to even the middle of the pack of the Big East. 7-11 is a fairly high bar in conference for this squad.

It becomes pretty daunting when you break it down by opponent. Would any of us be surprised if we go 2-6, or worse against the 4 teams projected to be in the top 25? Then what about Gtown, or Providence - a split of those 4 games would be nice, but 1-3 is a more likely scenario. Then there is Seton Hall, DePaul, Marquette. Can we really do better than 3-3 against those teams? When you look at it that way, even with a vastly improved squad that is competitive in most games, 6-12 or even 5-13 can be viewed as a step upwards for the program even if overall will look like a disappointing season.

Don't feel that bad, Nova has Eric Paschall this year ready to play. He's an immediate impact player and will gel very well with Jay W. They still are a force to be reckoned with IMO.

PS - I hear Paschall's former coach may sometime be on our bench, and I think that's a win win for all.
