Agreed but Butler is about to finish in 7th place with what I thought was the best team in the league.

VCU just beat St. Louis by 30. Need to see St. Louis improve before any consideration of an expansion with them.

Creighton was picked 9th in the preseason and now sits 8-5 in BE.

Every year a team in the BE conference surprises significantly based on pre-season projections. While knowing that next season is Year 2 in the rebuilding process, I am holding out hope that we can be that team and surprise a bit (like Creighton this year). Bottom line is that we have no idea how some of the rosters will look at this point next year. Seton Hall could lose Whitehead and Delgado. Providence, in addition to losing Dunn, could loss Bentil. Marquette will likely lose the frosh in addition to Fischer. The list goes on. Temper expectations, hope for growth/improvement, and perhaps a surprise season. That's my take.

Finishing 7th or 8 will be much improvement which I would be fine with and seeing incremental improvement from the kids for a big jump the following year

Well that depends. Butler is 7th with a record of 6-7, so I would be happy with that. Alternatively, 3-9 would be 8th in the league, I wouldn't be fine with that.
