@EvanDaniels: Malik Albert, a 6-1 JUCO All-American, signed with Creighton today, per a source.

Top 5 Juco;

@JucoRecruiting: Xavier will host 2016 JC All-American guard Jaylen Barford of Motlow St on a visit today. Priority recruit for the Musketeers.

Rothstein on Johnnies this season;

@JonRothstein: A .500 season would warrant a parade. #sjubb

I think if we get Mussini and Rowan, if Sima is eligible and we can either get another serviceable big man or either Alibegovic or Jones makes a big jump as far as improvement goes, we can be better than .500.

That's a lot of if's ... and big if's, at that.

That is a lot of if's, but I think all but one of them will happen. I can't decide if it's gonna be Sima being ineligible or Rowan choosing elsewhere. All of them would be awesome though. Mussini coming is looking good and I can see Alibegovic making a serviceable leap in play.

Even if (there's that "if" word again) some of these factors play out favorably for us -- namely Mussini, Rowan, and Sima committing and contributing -- we're still going to be a very inexperienced team, one short on blue-chip talent playing in a very competitive conference and with some tough OOC games on its schedule. Agree with Jon Rothstein's assessment that a .500 record would be parade worthy.

Agreed that .500 would be a successful first year. I'm more focused on the 2016 class.

Got a good feeling about upcoming season. Mullin will surprise a lot of doubters.

Cooley not a happy man lately;

@UndercoverFriar: 2015 PC Signee Alex Owens has not qualified and will not attend Providence. Will be at Tallahassee Community College for this year. #pcbb

@JonRothstein: La Salle transfer Khalid Lewis told @CBSSports his first visit will be Seton Hall. Date is still TBD. Immediately eligible. #shubb

@WojYahooNBA: Detroit has signed 38th overall pick Darrun Hilliard to a three-year deal, league source tells Yahoo. Hilliard is a guard out of Villanova.

@CasualHoya: Hearing that Georgetown will indeed play Wisconsin in the 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden on 11/20. Winner plays winner of VCU/Duke.

Think they'll draw as big a crowd as the Holiday Festival? :p
