Looks like reports of McDermott’s demise were premature.  I suspect some of the kids that are testing the waters will come back and Creighton will contend for a tournament bid.
I could very well end up being wrong, but I think only Damien Jefferson and Denzel Mahoney returns.  I have a sense Zegarowski and Ballock are done at Creighton.  IMO, if that occurs, then Creighton could have some struggles.  That's not to say they won't or can't compete, but I could see 'em struggling a bit.

Barring some big name pick-ups in the portal, Creighton is probably going to be picked at the bottom half of conference.

Top Half (No particular order)
Nova
Seton Hall
St. John's (If Champ returns)
UConn
Xavier

Bottom Half (no particular order)
Butler
Providence
DePaul
Marquette
Creighton
Georgetown

And we will not be used to seeing Creighton that low in the standings. It seems like since they've arrived in the Big East they've been perenial contenders.

On a related note how may spots open up in Europe every year?  Asking for the non PGs not transferring to TX.

Georgetown will replace TCU in the 2021 Wooden Legacy. Hoyas will join a field that already includes USC, San Diego State, and St. Joe's.

Nepotism :)

Creighton just announced that it’s hired two assistants

• Ryan Miller, coaching vet from TCU...he’s the uncle of incoming freshman Mason Miller
• Jalen Courtney-Williams, 28 yrs old from McNeese St

@JonNyatawa

They replace Paul Lusk (left for Purdue) and Terrence Rencher (Oklahoma State)

Ryan Miller may be the recruit's uncle, but he is a veteran assistant coach, and while he was Dave Rice's assistant at UNLV, he was a very effective recruiter.

Marquette transferee Kuath looks to be an excellent rim defender and should be a good backfill for the departed Theo John.

Shaka quietly putting together a solid team up at Marquette.

This just in: Sandro Mamukelashvili has won the Haggerty Award as the best player in the metro area. Seton Hall has produced 5 of the past 6 Haggerty winners.
