Around the Big East

So it appears recruiting could be far more successful but it is what it is,at this pt it may be hard to be in the middle of the big East standings.
That said,we should give coach thru at least the 2022/recruiting class if we still haven’t moved to be in the top 4-5- in confr then it should be open season o coach and staff for better results

FINALLY!!!!!
Source: Kevin Freeman will be named the next assistant coach at UConn.

Good recruiter
Freeman was one of the few yukon players that I had a grudging respect for (i.e. not a total douche, scumbag, cheater, criminal etc). He was a lunchpail guy who would kill you if you left him alone and was always doing something off the ball. Sort of like Postell in that respect.

In fairness to CMA and staff, the NYC area is not exactly being portrayed as a highly desirable locale to send your kids. Covid, shootings, people fleeing the city...that is the narrative of the day. Fair or unfair, that could be playing into the decisions of parents.

I think anyone questioning recruiting is justified at this point. Now that is not to say this cant change but as of now, this is worst case scenario. Dead frickin last.

Friars for 21 quiet so far;

Ed Cooley has made it a priority to land several guys for his 2021 class. It’s evident that the two guys he really wants are Bryce Hopkins and Lucas Taylor, both Top-100 prospects. Hopkins, formerly committed to Louisville, backed off his pledge this summer and now has nine finalists including Illinois, Kentucky, and others. Taylor however, is being pursued by tons of programs currently. He has completed several zoom calls with the Friars and Cooley is making a major push to land him.

One guy who I think they will land: Kuluel Mading. He has had the interest and an offer from them for quite some time and Cooley would love to land the dynamic forward who recently put the Friars on his list of seven finalists. Others that have the Friars on their final lists include Legend Geeter and Darius Johnson.

SJU needs to show progress on the court, year-to-year, to make it a competitive or desired destination. If CMA builds it, they will come.

Agree but as things stand at present UCONN would win the T anywhere they played it including on the moon.

They probably have higher attendance than the rest if the big east women combined
I think CMA is so clean that it is impeding recruiting. It’s a dirty game.
But as Arkansas fans came here and pointed out, CMA was getting big time recruits at Arkansas. He had top recruiting classes in recent years. So what really is the issue?

I'm as bummed as many on the Board at our slow recruiting pace and 'misses' (Riley, Johnson, Durugordon...), but still hopeful we'll hit on a couple and round out a good / solid 2021 recruiting class. That's better than drinking the hemlock early.

Might be wrong but I think many of his best recruits were 'locals'. Maybe easier to keep them home?

Look, I get that they'll probably cake walk through the tourny. Why give their obnoxious fans home games? Nobody complained when their tourny was held in Chicago and now they rejoin the BE, after they chose to leave, and Ackerman and her cronies are falling all over themselves to kowtow to them?

I thought Musselman came in and he immediately started getting recruits that CMA was not getting?
