Around the Big East

Butler cruising home up 12 w a minute left. Tough loss for Seton Hall's Dance ticket chance

Marquette winning at North Carolina by double digits will definitely raises the profile of the Big East in the eyes of the Selection Committee.

Providence off to a good start against Xavier. Bynum back at point for PC and just hit a three; big for them. We will have a tougher game against PC than last time.

I normally don't agree with the "forget this loss philosophy", but if I'm Travis Steele and Xavier, that's exactly what I do after this game (assuming they don't have a miracle comeback).  Providence was just unconsious (hopefully, a good sign for us - I don't think they have two in a row like that in them).

With a full week before the next game I don't think it matters much either way.

Probably not, but I still think the odds are in our favor that they won't shoot like that again.

I can't see how the league figures Xavier as a bye team at 5-5, with a .500 record playing almost half the games as everybody else.  Kick em to the curb and make them play the first round with few quality conference wins.  Now SJU needs to take care of our end.  We still aren't out of this.

Big East action today:

Georgetown at Depaul noon on FS1
Marquette at UCONN 2:30 on Fox
Creighton at Xavier 5 pm on Fox

Looking for Creighton to knock off Xavier at home

Go Marquette! Anyone but UConn

Rothstein;

BREAKING: Xavier's Nate Johnson will miss the remainder of the 20-21 season due to a leg injury, per release. Averaged 11.4 PPG. HUGE loss for the Musketeers. An ELITE shooter.

The huge win by Marquette earlier this week bumped all the bubble teams up a couple spots, but that aside the conference as of today only has 2 locks and 3 right on the bubble. Personally I don't like UConn, but in a worst case scenario where they are the only bubble team with a chance I'd definitely rather they make it and the Big East gets 3 in rather than 2. I think the most likely scenario is we get 4 in, though Seton Hall and Xavier really aren't looking too good.

We really need Creighton to win this and they're down 3 with 30 sec left in the first half.  Let's go jays.

Butler up 10 with 4 minutes left v Nova

wow
They are a totally different team, when they play at Hinkle.  This is going to be their 7th Big East home win (Depaul is the only team they've beaten on the road).
