And he plays defense like each possession matters. Somehow their leading scorer for the last 3 years was consistently overlooked.

UConn has played 4 mid majors and blasted all of them by 30-40 points. I don't know how much we can really gauge from them yet. They have games against Memphis, Baylor, Texas, Gonzaga and Xavier all coming up in the next 30 days so we will learn just how good they are very soon

All I know is Hurley is damn good at what he does and I expect them to be contenders once again

"Mid Majors" is being verrrryyyy generous lol...

But yes- hopefully they worked out whatever kinks they needed to- the gauntlet coming up Starting in Maui with Memphis - Mich State then a monster Finals matchup with one of Iowa St/Auburn/UNC.... then Gonzaga at MSG ...

Not that they need to, but they can make a true statement in the coming weeks.

Completely agree. I watched them some and their freshman MCNeely is really good as is Ball and of course Karaban. Also the center they got from Michigan (Reed) will push for starter minutes.

Some real big opportunities coming up for the League to make a statement...
-Watching Marq run Purdue out of the gym was a great start and with a win of Georgia- they are looking at a top 10 ranking next week. They have Iowa St, Wisconsin and Dayton left before BE play... wow... Shaka put together a tuuufff sched for them
-UConn has the aforementioned gauntlet coming up in Maui- Hoping they trounce Zaga at MSG- should be a home game for them...
-Xavier is playing in Fort Meyers tipoff vs S Carolina... then prob Michigan. Big matchup with Cincy coming in Dec
-Creighton has Texas AM/Kansas/Bama left before conf play...

Man... the top half of the League can really all put themselves all in the Top 15 prior to conf play if they perform...

Don't see them at the top this year. Were better 2 years ago (Sanogo's team) and that team finished 5th.

Have you seen who they beat? They finished 5th in the conference 2 years ago and pulled a miracle to win it all. They had 4 of their starters drafted into the NBA last season. They returned only Karaban, who won't even be All-Conference this season. Diary this post for mid-March.

To be fair, no team came close to beating them in that tournament (or last years) so a miracle doesn’t seem accurate. Do I agree that they aren’t as good as last year, yes. But I’m not ready to say they aren’t a title contender again.

Also, Karaban is a lock for all conference
