Around the Big East

Knock on wood when you say that. Playing in Newark has been a nightmare for us for years. We even got screwed there in the infamous LJ "inadvertent whistle" game.
That games was in Jamaica. I was at snow storm game Newark. Maybe 30 SJ fans there. Less than 250 total attendance. Arena invite all to floor seats. And Lavin and his merry band won!

Held them to 23% FG 16% from 3 has nothing to do with pace of game. Guess you’re not an expert on fruit 🍎 🍊😉😊
No dog in the fight but respectfully, shooting is a rhythm and timing act and the pace of a game can very much have an affect on shooting %. That is one of the goals of speeding up a team that would prefer to play slow and vice versa.
Now, that is a very general bball statement, I did not see the Hall-Wagner game so have no idea if that was the case at all there.

Go take a look at Lappas with Villanova from 93-2000. Won 20 or more 6 times, finished top 2 in the league 3 times, had great talent on the roster ... And never got past the second round of the NCAAAT
Career 2 games over .500 in conference games lifetime 2-4 ncaa's and 4 ncaaa appearances in 17 years vs +60 something games over 500 in conference lifetime 10-11 ncaas and 11 ncaa appearances in 15 years

Lappas=Taco Bell
Smart=Shake Shack

Didn't realize Wagner was the Showtime Lakers. ;):)

I'd have gone with a troll gif but yeah.

In totally unrelated news I have the same question as DK - what happened to the unmotivated artist known as Garwey Dual? I was sort of skeptical that Sha would put up with him for very long so wouldn't be surprised if he was benched or left the team.
Apparently Dual and Zion Harmon are “out indefinitely”. Ruh roh.

And I still think Sha will get whoever to play competitive in the Big East.

I should have realized my mistake when I had to explain my comment was a “very general bball statement”, not related to the Hall-Wagner game. I incorrectly thought it might generate some actual basketball discussion, my bad.

Exactly - Lappas is in third place, Fran in second, and Gonzelez the undisputed king of Manhattan head coach nuts who made their way into the BE
Gordon Chiesa (although he went from Manhattan HC to AC at Providence and then HC replacing Pitino.

Mahoney doesn’t make the list as he was not nuts.

I'll never forget this quote from an article in 2010.

"To illustrate just how difficult Bobby Gonzalez was to manage when he coached at Manhattan College from 1999 to 2006, Athletic Director Bob Byrnes told a story about the bus company Manhattan used to travel to games.

“The guy who runs the bus company called me and said something to the effect of: ‘I have 131 drivers that drive for us. But we’re down to one guy that will drive for Bobby Gonzalez,’ ” Byrnes said."
