Villanova is 2.5pt favorites tonight @St. Joe's - if you remember, Villanova got smacked around in their big 5 games last year. They've already taken a bad loss to Columbia, but it is important for the league that they stay somewhat afloat here... if they collapse this season during Neptune's (likely) final year it will drag the whole league's metrics down.

Totally agree that Gtown and DePaul will be better than last year which is not saying much, but it also appears that we may have 5 pretty bad teams (giving PC the benefit of the doubt) and not sure which is worse for the league as far as tourney selections.

And yes I agree NC, it is early in the year and I don’t want to overreact to what I’ve seen, but this conference in totality might be weaker than it was last year, and we got 3 teams in last year. Nit good. (that was a typo, meant to type “not good”… but maybe NIT good is a bit of a Freudian slip there)

nova down 3 in need of a stop and they are just straight up leaving guys wide open cutting to the basket. Not sure you can get more poorly coached than this team. Just horrendous. Wonder if Neptune makes it the whole season.

I don’t like this at all because it really puts more pressure on us to win these games. Away games are always tough.

That said, Providence lacks a lot of pop now. But they do return Hopkins later in the year, so maybe that’ll change things

Maybe I reverse mushed DePaul. I know DePaul won their last two. Maybe their first game was an outlier. But they looked like trash against a team I never heard of in Southern Indiana. Call me a skeptic but I lean more towards them being more like the 1st game and not the 2nd and 3rd.
