My limited observation of the league last night was that nobody other than Marquette looked good. SJU did what it had to do but did not look close to a finished product. DePaul came out of the gate looking like it had a clue - but nah. Nova was (unsurprisingly) trash. X was (surprisingly) trash. Butler still doesn't have a point guard. Providence misses Devin Carter. And poor Sha has to get the hell out of the Hall - he's too good of a coach to waste his ability on that roster and they just can't afford a better one.
That said it's just one game. But it sure looks like continuity helps - especially when that continuity includes Kam Jones (plus Joplin, Mitchell and Ross).
I think the league will get it together but that was not a very inspiring start for basically anyone outside of Marquette and to a lesser extent SJU.
