The Xavier game might have been a killer for this team.

They've had a lot of close battles against teams better than them, but other than DePaul at home, they have not gotten rewarded for it in the victory column. Most teams, especially those with less talent, will break eventually, when that happens.

Another candidate , already in Chicago at Northwestern , is Chris Collins .
He’s done ok at a Private B10 School with very high academics ,This year the Wildcats are 13-5 so far .

Obviously hard to get kids into Northwestern but , he does a lot with what he can recruit . Which could help him at DePaul .

Plus , he’s already got the Chicago connection and knows where the NIL $$$ , would be .

DePaul could do a lot worse but , how much better ? Chris Mack , Josh Pastner ,?
 
The real home run phone call would be to Billy Donovan, who's now been living in Chicago the last four years. But I don't understand why he would want the grind of a college job again.

DePaul is a worse job than Northwestern lets be real. it would be a bad move for Collins

Of course it would be but , no one is knocking down Collins to Coach most everywhere .

If DePaul is serious about finally going all out to improve , they will need to dangle lots of $$$$ for a quality Coach .

Collins can Coach , with less than McD All American players and at DePaul he can use the Portal to attract very good players looking for more NIL money or , a bigger PT role .

DePaul would only need a couple of seasons of competitive results to get back in winning a few BE games . Collins could do that .

Unless he wants a Lifetime career at Northwestern . Which isn’t too bad .

Donovan didn't take Repole's money 14 years ago. I doubt very much DePaul could match what he offered back then (after you adjust it for inflation, anyway).
