Funny part about this is how disappointed we all were that Riley chose G-town over SJU.

He may end up being no more than the 3rd or 4th best player in their class.

From what I've seen so far in the big East, looking like a 5-6 bid league this year.

1. Villanova
2. Creighton
3. Xavier
4. UConn
5. Providence
6. Seton Hall
7. Marquette
8. St. John's
9. Georgetown
10. DePaul
11. Butler

I think this next 5 game stretch is going to be really important for St. John's and tell us a lot. Winning 3 of the next 5 should be the goal and should be attainable if they play as well as they did last night. 3 very winnable home games against teams in the bottom tier of the conference, and 2 games on the road against ranked opponents. If they can somehow steal a game on the road, and win those 3 home games that they will be favored in that would put them in the tournament picture, with a record of 10-5.

And like I said Georgetown and DePaul l(6th & 12th). Picked 10th & 11th and got big time classes.

Yeah. I do expect cma to start getting higher ranked recruits. I'm not hearing oh but this player fits his style. That's getting played by now.

Trust me, there’s a reason DePaul is getting higher ranked recruits when they have been at the bottom of the conference for forever (and it’s not what you would want from your school)

So maybe recruits don't just choose a school based on where it was projected to end up in the standings for that one season? Relax
 
This is the obligatory "stay on topic" message. This is the "around the big east" thread. Discussion of the Georgetown and DePaul recruiting classes is totally appropriate here. So is discussion of how many BE teams may make the NCAA tournament (if there is one).

If you are going to spin the conversation into bitching and moaning about St John's recruiting, there is a Mike Anderson thread for that.

Here it is  UPROAR .  Why then?  No matter what detractors say about Ewing , he's done pretty well recruiting some good players .  Akingo , MCClung , Blair ,Pinkett, Wuhab , Donte Harris and now , Mohammed .  Seems like Patriick is able to get DC kids , even if they go to HS elsewhere .
