Around the Big East

I’m simply daring to question the wisdom of Rick’s decisions; A. J. Storr, for example, is the leading scorer for Wisconsin, currently a top 25 team….
I was a fan of storr. Thought his game had a lot of potential. Would have liked for him to stay if all things worked out with Pitino. That said. Please cite all stats if you are going to say he is the leading scorer on wisconsin.
He is averaging 13 ppg. Solid sure. But that is on 40% fg from the field and 23% from 3. If he was doing that here you would be screaming stop shooting!!

He also adds a whopping 2.6 rebounds per game to go along with 1 assist per game. And half a steal per game. Take it easy on the gloating numbers you seem to want to push by saying leading scorer.

Reasonable to have hoped SJ would have retained a few popular kids, but If Rick said to Shanley, “I will only take this gig if you let me clear house w a few exceptions” , how many of us would have objected?

Let’s face it the program was for years mired in mediocrity, facing the perils of NIL/portal era and playing in arguably in the best hoops conference out there. Johnnies needed to go with a shark like Pitino reasonably on his terms or perish. It seems that simple.

The love-hate with Posh on this board is curious. I remember at one point there was a thread during his sophomore year asking if we'd rather have Posh than Shamorie Ponds - which was patently absurd. Then last year we were mostly disappointed in Posh, since his play regressed significantly. Some of that was due to circumstances beyond his control, since Anderson gave the keys to the car to Curbelo. (But in fairness, did Curbelo being on the team cause Posh's handle to deteriorate? That was very odd to me.) Now some of us are still pining away for him.

Posh was a solid New York City point guard - tough kid, good passer, not afraid to go to the hoop and take punishment, a decent rebounder for a little guy, and a first-class defender. His lack of shooting was a glaring weakness, since defenders could lay off of him and he could never keep them honest.

In the pantheon of Johnnies PGs from the past forty years or so, he ranks behind Mark Jackson, Boo Harvey (my personal favorite), Erik Barkley, Marcus Hatten, Shamorie Ponds, DeAngelo Harrison and a healthy Darryl Hill. Good luck to him at Butler, where he's playing at a great program for a very good coach.

I'm more focused on Jenkins (who's sharing the ball better, thankfully) and Wilcher, who I like a lot and I think will ultimately be very good.

Don’t disagree except D’Angelo wasn’t a PG.

Ha. That’s just nuts. Daniss is in different class. Last thing Posh needs is another lunch. 😎😎Last pass into post was terrible. He lucked out that bad pass was saved by team mate. Otherwise he is reason team lost. He can’t shoot. We have seen this movie before. 2-10. It always ends badly. One drive he took in ot was duh blocked. He was lucky he got call.
Different class, I agree. The A-10 is his class.

I don’t know what to make of this, but your post read as if you were on the verge of popping a few blood vessels and then your last line just implores everyone to move on.

Holy transition Batman.
I’m saying that it’s permissible to question some of Ricks’s decisions and still be a diehard Redmen fan. Isn’t it?

I’ll say this as plainly as I can. Posh, Storr and even Wusu would have been valuable pieces for this team, and should have been kept. Something was wrong with their attitudes? You’re a Hall Of Fame coach, CHANGE IT, for Christ’s sake! Don’t fire kids who’ve already given years of their life to this University.
Enough already. Let’s move on from this and BEAT WEST VIRGINIA!
Whoaaaaaa. Was Posh offered to meet Rick or go to practice or whatever and instead he went with his GF.

Rick said ok Posh just made his choice loud and clear, so GOOD BYE.

Rick won't kiss no kids ass no matter who it is.

Last thing, why is it Rick's freaking job to change their attitude? He's a coach, not a shrink.
They're young men, not children. They should change their attitudes their damn selves.

Fine as long as Daniss enjoys his 5 course dinner 😛

Not only that but these kids are getting paid now. They’re not just students. This is their job now. Be responsible and be accountable!!

As I remember the team from last year was said to have a poor attitude and were running the show. Part of Rick's change was to straighten out the mess/get the cancer out of the clubhouse and that is what he did

It was impressive that they were down by as little as four with two minutes, despite not scoring a field goal in 8
