Around the Big East

Not sure the issue with UConn. They have a football team -- it just sucks ass. Add them and let them be a bottom feeder. Every conference has one.

I just want anything that will make Uconn fans unhappy. It's not like I'm wishing for their team to crash in the Andes and the players have to eat each other but I wouldn't be opposed to their team taking a charter hoops flight hit really rough turbulence and go though some science fiction time air pocket land in russia and be forced to play in a russian league

I would have no problem if their program becomes the next “Yellowjackets” tv series.

On the surface, this seems like a terrible idea for UConn. They will end up losing all identity. This is strictly all about money, I get it, but what other benefit do they really get from this?

UConn guard contingent very solid w Spencer addition in guard’s game

Per Fox Sports

“Shooting 43.4% from beyond the arc (fifth in the Big Ten), while averaging 13.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, Spencer's story is amazing. He was a 0-star recruit coming out of high school, where he played at the Boys Latin School of Maryland.”

I get UCONN wanting to find a home for their miserable football team but why would they join the Big 12 as a basketball only school. It makes no sense to me?

Because it would offer them more long term stability as football conferences won’t be strapped for cash.

Outside of simply how good the conference is basketball wise year to year, which you could argue BE is as good as any, the B12 has more stability big picture with the football options they have.

I don't think they're even allowed to do that. My understanding is that you have to join a conference for all sports, unless that conference doesn't offer the sport you're offering (e.g. Big East not offering football).
