Around the Big East

Terrible second half to watch but UConn defense bailed them out after being cold shooting, win by 3

My suspicion was correct:

Tier 1:
Villanova
Creighton
UConn

Tier 2:
Everyone else but G'Town/DePaul

Tier 3:
G'Town
DePaul

True and world may end now, but I agree with you. :) Seton Hall backcourt besides Aiken seems ordinary. If his injury pattern continues, they will struggle IMO.

I watched last 3/4 of UCONN game and came away very impressed with them. Very solid group of core players, true star with Bouknight and will only get tougher when big guy returns from achilles injury in a few weeks. Play very tough D. Agree with Mike Z that they look to be a top 3 BE team.

Which is exactly why I liked the UConn addition. I still hate them obviously, but from a conference standpoint, they give us another top level team. Nova cannot win every year. Can't rely on them, since casual fans and even media can say we are only a 1 team conference in the national sense. UConn gives us a strong 3rd team at the top in what looks like a down year for Big East.

I do think UConn will finish towards the top (most likely 3rd but I'm not penciling it in) and is a tourney team this year, I just also really think there's a decent gap between Creighton/Nova and UConn. Not in raw talent maybe but the talent in the first two programs is more developed and I trust the systems and cultures much more in the first two.

That being said, Bouknight may beat out Zegarowksi & Robinson-Earl for Big East POY and he'll play in the NBA for a decade. Also getting a glue guy like Tyrese Martin was a great move by Hurley and moving him ahead of Gaffney in the rotation yesterday was probably the right call. Gaffney's going to get good minutes this year but next year that backcourt is going to get pretty crowded.

Marquette upsets #4 Wisconsin on a crazy last 5 seconds and a buzzer beater tip in off a missed foul shot.

Nova plays Texas at 1 pm tomorrow on ESPN. Texas looked good against UNC the other day.

Important game next Friday
Want the win over unconn

Went to so many games at the garden with buses of uconn fans

@AdamJBaum

: Xavier has announced that its three men's basketball players have been cleared to end their quarantine and Adam Kunkel's waiver has been approved by the NCAA.

The Musketeers will have Kunkel, Colby Jones and CJ Wilcher available on Sunday for the Crosstown Shootout.

I am watching Farleigh Dickinson vs. Providence. Farleigh has a 6'7", 225 lbs. bruiser (Elijah Williams) that is giving the Friars all sorts of problems in the paint. I wish we would bring in a player like this. Even if the kid doesn't score, it opens up a lot of offensive options.

Perhaps just one before I kick the bucket.

*Update: Elijah Williams finished with 15pt. 8rbs
