Around the Big East

I’m ok if they stay where they are for a few years as we rise back to prominence.[/quote]

That's how I feel about Hall. Because they fight over bragging rights for NYC area. I think a good Georgetown would re-invigorate our rivalry and imagine #20 St. John's vs. #24 Georgetown at MSG?

I think he will get more time. Appears he has lined up a good class for next season with Dikembe’s son a 6’11 center incoming. Don’t throw dirt on him yet.

It's true. If Lavin had pulled a big class (Diallo, Briscoe, etc) he would have likely stuck around.
Plus with Covid still lingering schools I think will still be cheap and not want to fire and pay off coaches.

Surprised he hasn't made the jump back to the NBA yet. I know for awhile he had aspirations of becoming an NBA head coach. Wonder if he still does.

I think he has something to prove yet as a college coach. On top of that. It’s his alma mater. Sounds like a good class coming in. He turns it around maybe then he turns to the NBA? Of course, only Ewing himself can answer what he wants.

Hall (1-2) goes down to Rhode Island 76-63

Providence (2-2) loses to Alabama 88-71

X (5-0) beats Tennessee Tech 79-48

PC is about as bad as I've seen for OOC...they can never beat these P5 teams. Then they come into conference play with a crap resume and suddenly do well. Calls for Cooley to be fired lol saw their fans discussing. Idk about that, but man they have a point they cannot ever win in OOC and with their recruiting they should be winning their share.

Georgetown is going nowhere under Ewing. Their fans know it too. Sad but true.

Seton Hall is not good at least without Aiken.

May be a really tough year for Big East. Everyone looks out of it except Nova.

The big east will not be as strong as last year but I think SJU will be better than last year which if true should mean a better league record for SJU,

At this point, it looks like:

Villanova
Creighton
UConn (still need to see what they do tonight but if they can beat F5 teams unlike PC they belong here)

And then everyone else. Wide open.

I agree for the most part but I want a better look at this UConn squad. They definitely have plenty of talent but they're no longer at the level where they get any benefit of the doubt. I want to see them start stringing some conference wins together before I put them above the rest of the muddle in the middle. I also never count Providence out (unless it's the NCAA tournament.)

If the league continues to struggle (combined with the lack of non-con opportunities) wins against Nova and Creighton will become extremely valuable for everyone else. Hopefully we can steal one of those.

Providence is planning on playing its game at TCU next week, Covid issues aside. Per sources. St. John’s cancelled its trip (TTU) to B12.
Per Kevin McNamara

Uconn vs USC in progress on ESPN

Tight game midway thru 1st half

Both teams undefeated

Bouknight Is an AA player this year imo. I like the other guards on UConn and they have some functional bigs. Handling SC so far, up in first half by 10 with 2 minutes left. UConn impressive on D as well. Suspect UConn could finish third or fourth in BE.

The last 6 to 7 minutes of regulation has been ragged play by both teams.
