Around the Big East

PC drubbing DePaul. SJU v DePaul game in Chicago will be hot ticket. 🫣
DePaul’s once proud BB program is suffering the same decades long slide into the depths of the BE as we are . They have gone through as many Coaches as we have . With the same or , worse results . Now , we are being joined by G’Town as well . Shame .

A rebuilding Butler team is beating Georgetown by 28 in DC tonight.

How much longer can Gtown allow this embarrassment to continue.

If Ewing doesn't resign at this point he is just acting selfishly.

No way he can justify staying on and no way Georgetown can justify keeping him any longer.

I think this is right. Ewing is done and will not coach Gtown past this year, they have the $$$$ to buy him out. Essentially 3 choices:

1) He is fired/resigns mid-season
2) Announces he will coach rest of season and step down after season
3) They announce nothing until season ends and at that time Gtown parts ways.

Problem is Ewing has been knocked down 25 times in a row in BE play and hasn't gotten up yet.

Not to get political, but I wonder if he's the one advising Kevin McCarthy to keep battling for speaker.

What's really hurting Georgetown is that not only do the Depaul's, St. John's and Butler's see them as a win, and play their hardest because of it, they don't even get good teams overlooking them anymore (UCONN might have been the last one). Because they've lost so many in a row, no one wants to be "that team" that ends the streak (even though someone will be eventually), and so they get everybody's best, night after night, just like they were a top 5 team nationally.
