Around the Big East
How is it that Xavier has three guys in the protocol and played the game?
I dont think they tested positive, just precaution due to contact tracing

Considering they have been above 500 6 of the last 7 years in conference I'll wait until they reverse that trend before making a statement like that.
Not to mention they were awful last year in the OOC and, once again, performed well in-conference.

Halftime and Prov is now up 12
Are the first game first half prognostications done now?

Umbc point guard makes Mugsy Bogues look tall. This UMBC team is not going to back down.

Lets go UMBC!!!!
Darnell Rogers. 5'2". Averaged 14PPG last season. Kid is beyond small, but clearly talented. Good for him.
If you're interested in "scouting"Texas Tech, They are playing Houston on Sunday at 5:30 PM on ESPN2
That will be a good read on them too because Houston is a very good team with a high quality coach.

His father Shawnta Rogers at 5' 4" was the A10 player of the year for George Washington in 1999.
His stat line that year was very impressive:
20.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 6.8 apg, 3.6 spg
He went on to a have a very successful 10 year professional career playing mostly in Europe.

Agreed. Looks like being picked to finish last in the big east is accurate.

Yeah really bad . And Wahab isn’t very good, just a good rebounder. Looking rough.

He played for Indian Land High in South Carolina. I watched him play in person a few years ago in a 3rd round playoff game as he was giving my alma mater fits in a tightly contested ball game where Rogers' team pulled it out.

It's still very early in the season, of course, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they looked bad all season.

Wahab was the difference in today's ball game and a Hoya 15-2 run early in the second half. Other than that, UMBC basically played 'em evenly.

It’s early but I don’t see a lot of talent right now. Hard to fix that. Wait til Riley gets the ball next season and doesn’t give it up...lol

If this team is going to outperform expectations the way many of us here think they will then we really need to sweep this Georgetown team. We'll be the more talented team and they don't have an offensive weapon at the level of McClung or Akinjo this season who can get hot and take over for a chunk of the game. If we're gonna make some noise in the conference that should really be two wins.

Thanks for insight Dink. Heard announcer say that his Dad is Shante Rogers who played for GW. Kid kinda reminds me of a miniature Kareem Reid.
