Around the Big East

2 freshman and a walk on. This should not affect them much at all.
This Oakland team is awful. Xavier is rolling and will win this easily.
They truly look like one of the worst teams in the country. Nothing against Xavier who is shooting lights out (Tandy is on fire from 3) They can only play who is in front of them but Oakland is just missing wide open shots and Xavier is just hitting everything from everywhere. Bloodbath.

Too bad about CJ WIlcher. Looking forward to seeing him play. He was someone I was hoping would land at St. John's.

Won't your Duke of E put a stop to that?

Odom is only 6'1. The Duke doesnt chase around guards. He takes care of the big fellas.

Interestingly, Coach Pressey noted that Earlington's value is his versatility at multiple positions and he runs floor well. Noted that he needs to let game come to him and not try to force things.

Correct. He was key in stopping Gtowns 7 footer in the 1st round of the Big East Tourney. Very impressive for a 6'6 kid to shut down a pretty skilled 7 footer.

hard to gauge xavier from this totally lopsided game but one thing is they look plenty deep with nobody looking lost.

Yup. A solid core with Scruggs, tandy, freemantle and the freshman odom. They are going to be tough every night. The fact that we cant beat them no matter what doesnt help.

Xavier looked solid. Weak opponent but, as always, well coached good looking team.
Not impressed w/ Providence. Fairfield giving them all they can handle.
Halftime and Prov is now up 12
Are the first game first half prognostications done now?

No. They still dont impress me. I do not see them being in the to half of the big east this year.

Ed Cooley knows his business. They always get better as the season goes on, and they're always in the mix. Never flashy, but the results are always there.

Considering they have been above 500 6 of the last 7 years in conference I'll wait until they reverse that trend before making a statement like that.
