Around the Big East

These refs are F'in horrible. That wasn't even close to a foul on Kalbrener

Just an interesting note. For those of you who don’t believe that “star” recruit rankings  mean much, the two Big East teams with the greatest number of 4 star recruits are Nova and Creighton.  while sometimes it does not work out that way, more times then not it does.

Both teams have no legs. It’s time to move the championship back to Sunday afternoon.
No major conference does that, only the smaller ones for TV scheduling. Uconn won5 games in 5 days.

Exactly Bama, you take the best $ deal and suck it up. Playing consecutive games and enjoying dividends is not exactly like operating a jackhammer in August on LI Expressway

The outside shooting is terrible because of the three games in three days and even more so both Creighton and Nova use very few players. Nova had three players play 37 min vs SJU and one play 36. Creighton sometimes only plays seven. These two teams are running on fumes.

True, and the back to back BE POY was considered the 81st best point guard, not player, in his high school class.

There are always exceptions….. look at three star Posh. But if you look at the teams who make the final four etc. or win conference championships they are mostly filled with higher rated recruits.

Three minutes left in the second half and just 3 fouls have been called against Nova.  Creighton will have to beat their opponent AND the refs to win this game.

Gillespie’s legs don’t seem to be tired at all. Two back to back treys to put Nova up by 5 with just under two minutes to go.

At risk of oversimplifying,  hoops success is so much about making plays at key times and Gillespie does that. Annoying guy, but you like him when he is on your side.

Shout out to coach McDermit . After a rough year and unjustified accusations he comes back with the top recruited class in the conference and almost beats Nova. How bright is that teams future.

My wife and I talk about things we'd like to do before we leave this world. One thing that she doesnt care about but I'd sure like to do is see the Johnnies be in the position where Nova is right now. Well, I can dream.
