I absolutely hate Patrick Ewiing but respect how much of a warrior he AND Chris Mullin are. They were both born to win, and that fueled their intense ability to compete at the highest levels. Going winless in conference is as bad as it gets, and for his sake I hope he is afforded one more year to right the ship, as much as I hate saying that.Paultzman post=460265 said:Patrick Ewing on his future as #Hoyas coach: "Of course I want to be back here, but in this position, in this job, whatever happens will happen. I’m hoping I’ll be back and doing something that I love at a place that I love and getting us back to being the king of the hill.”

Providence a smoke and mirrors team. Top to (near) bottom in the big east was pretty close this season.lawmanfan post=462699 said:What the hell is Providence doing? You're supposedly a top 10 team, you're playing a team that played OT last night at noon today, and you don't bury them? I mean Providence isn't really built to bury anyone but this is disgraceful

Nate Watson taketh points, and Nate Watson giveth points away. Ouch. Hit a damn free throw, big fella
I think they're balanced enough, play good defense and are very experienced to make some run in the NCAA.Paultzman post=462708 said:Butler loses to PC by 4, but really played tough the last two games and deserves kudos.
PC has to their credit closed well this year, but I just don’t see them advancing beyond first round of Dance

Meanwhile, he made it pretty clear during the post game handshakes how Cooley really felt about Lavin when he was coaching here.
I'm with MM52. Providence is using the old Pitt approach under Howland and Dixon - play low scoring, close games and then beat you by 3 at the end by being tougher and executing better than you do. That's a tough tightrope to walk deep into the NCAA tournament. Not impossible that they will, but I think they're the most likely Big East team to be an upset victim.mm52 post=462711 said:I think they're balanced enough, play good defense and are very experienced to make some run in the NCAA.Paultzman post=462708 said:Butler loses to PC by 4, but really played tough the last two games and deserves kudos.

I didn’t realize it until they showed on the Screen that Creighton had 3 of their Freshman on the BE All Rookie team . Nembhart , Kamala and Alexander . McDermott rebuilt most of his team from last year . He certainly is one of the Elite Coaches in the BE and has Creighton a NCAA team every year . He has the formula .
