Around the Big East

Kudos Mase, your guy Lukosius on Butler killing it in clutch

Think Butler found their focal piece for next year. That or Lucosius just found a phone with a lot of college coaches numbers in it.

And we thought the Johnnies were the worst foul shooters in the conference. Xavier just threw their season away. Unbelievable

Happy for scrappy Butler beating underachieving and not very smart Xavier

Xavier blog has new thread, “Is Travis Steele the Right Guy”?

The scheduling for today's games was fucking stupid.  Not that I feel bad for them but the SHU Gtown 2nd half is going to happen tomorrow (for you east coasters at least).  The winner of that game is screwed.  3 games to be played get them done by 11pm.  Jeez.

How great would it be if Georgetown beats Seton Hall? Probably won't happen, but they do have the HT lead.

It would be better if the winner of the Georgetown v. seton Hall game defeats Yukon tomorrow.

Look... I absolutely want us to keep winning- and think we have the capability to if we show up for the next 3 nights... but trying so hard to be rational... Probability is low on that one.

However, I definitely think we punched a ticket to the NIT tonight. Yes- not what we wanted/expected- but still- "post-season" play.

Last i remember of an NIT game was when we lost to Robert Morris- sorry killed by Robert Morris in front of a completely empty CA.

I think these committees try and be cute with scheduling.... IONA vs SJU as a 4v5 game at CA would draw a Crowd from Long Island to see us beat Pitino on our sidelines- it would be a good atmosphere.

Steele's connected to a big X booster through marriage, I think.  But I think that loss puts them on the other side of the bubble.  And I'd have to think his seat is "white hot" right now with how X performed this year compared to expectations.  For a team that basically hit a HR hire with every coach for about a 20 year period, and is used to not only living in the NCAA tournament but advancing there too sometimes, Steele's run here has to be quite the shock.

Xavier's OOC wins against Ohio St, Cinn, Okla St and Va Tech have helped them with SOS and keeping them still on the bubble.

Scrappy Butler tied w PC by at the half with refs ruining game flow. Will Butler’s legs hold up? Hope so.

Gus Johnson is the best.
Raftery I could do without at this point.

Ahh you’re killing me. I feel the exact opposite. Aside from “soriani” raft is still the best out there IMO. I’ll enjoy Gus tonight in big game but he’s too much for me in regular season.

Butler really giving its all up four in second half and no sign of fatigue yet. Would love to see them send PC home, but plenty of time left
