Referring is the hardest thing to do in basketball. Still; it’s atrocious.
Depends what you are referring too. Refereeing on the other hand is definitely very difficult. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png/media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

You had to get technical

For sure a horrible call, but let’s not forget Seton Hall benefited from an inadvertent whistle against us.
The LJ steal in the final seconds at Prudential. 13-0 start stolen away.

Another last second call by refs that impacted the outcome in the SH game . Was the same ref involved in the call against us in Conn ?  I thought  refs were supposed to swallow the whistle in those circumstances .  I remember a SJ -SH  game at Alumni where Bobby Gonzalez went nuts when the refs refused to call a foul on a SH player who was mugging a SJ player on his way upcourt at the end of a game .  I wonder if Willard will be punished for his obscenity filled outburst at the refs today over the late call .

Hey I don't think I deserve a technical for that, maybe a stern warning. Besides I was just showing off my St. John's edukation. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png/media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

I really thought that if we had won that game that it would have sent our season in a different direction. I feel the same way this year about the UConn game. It really put a damper on our season.

That was a brutal game for me. We visted family for holidays and I went to the last non conf game vs. Sacred Heart.

We were undefeated and then and I went to SH gameat  the Pru Center too...We  stayed at connecting hotel to drive home to NC next morning.  Got up at 6am  miserable and drove 10 hrs back while my wife and daughter slept in the car for first few hours.

Kept trying to comprehend what happened and was checking forum before I went to bed and during the gas fill ups on ride back.

Hard to day if it changed things.. it was first cinf game, we won the next two.  I thing the beating we took at Duke really hurt.

Here is the game log for season

Nova is just so super efficient, and Butler is just not a good team

75-31 7 min left...

Perhaps Wright puts in his end of bench early to not have them win by 50

Marquette wins at the Pavilion over Nova 57-54.  5 in a row for them.

Because Shaka Smart is second best coach in the conference.
Pretty clear that Shaka Smart saw what he had with his new-look team, and built a system around that.  57-54 would have been the halftime score in his VCU days.

Anderson, OTOH, told his new look team (paraphrasing here) "forget everything you've learned.  You're going to play my way now."

That's all you need to know about why Marquette is winning, and we are not.

Exactly!!!! Bingo!!!

Didn't see any of this game as I needed to switch to another sport after our debacle, but pretty impressive that Depaul only lost by 1 to Xavier without Freeman Liberty.

Appears that they are less dependent on their star player than we are...

Great job by Shaka but let’s not rewrite history. His VCU teams averaged 64.5 points during his 7 years there. Always been about defense.
