Nova has no size and no bench. Im not sure y Wright didnt get a few kids w/ size through the portal.
Not only is McDermott a very good coach but he recruits at a very high level. The level of players he brought in last year was far superior to those that our staff brought in. What is shocking though is that he was able to do it after his most unflattering remarks to his team became public and were all over social media. I had thought his coaching obituary at Creighton University had been written at that point, just goes to show what I know.Monte post=447066 said:

If you are looking for a reason as to why Nova has been blown out in their last two games, it is very simple, they are not sharing the ball. Nova had 5 assists against Baylor and 4 assists against Creighton. Gillespie had 3 assists total in these games.
This year's Nova team is a far cry from Coach Wright's previous teams. They received a high ranking because of name recognition, not the product on the floor.
Going to be rooting for us to sweep them this season.

Despite the Refs trying to give UCONN a Homecourt victory at the end of the Game , the Friars won . Making Fr Shanley 1-1 in games he’s interested in . The Friars were brutal down the stretch from the foul line but , still prevailed . Of the BE Games I watched yesterday , I think Xavier , Marquette , UCONN and Providence will be too much to handle for us . Creighton might be in that category as well . Nova ? Maybe we split . SH , with the forfeit , maybe we split . DePaul and G’Town will be pick ‘em games . Butler Is a toss up too, especially at Hinkle . That’s the best scenario I can see , after watching our Loss to Pitt . I’m being realistic . It’s also possible the NCAA will start to think about Cancelling the regular season or cutting it short . It seems the Covid will be raging again this Winter .
Wouldn’t call it optimistic….more pessimistic…Providence is not an extremely talented team…their strength is based strictly on experience with multiple 5th year seniors like Watson. We may not win but it wont be due to a talent gap.SLYFOXX1968 post=447646 said:

There's obviously no compelling evidence based on play to date that we will finish ahead of any of those teams. What I will say is this board was in a similar meltdown last season when we lost 5 of our first 6 Big East games. We then went on to win 8 of our next 9 and finished a respectable 4th. I'm not happy with team's play to date but will continue to root like hell for them and am by no means ready to write the season off (although I was just about there as I saw the Pitt game slip away I have since calmed down lol).
New AP poll has four Big East teams in it: Seton Hall (15), Xavier (18), Providence (22) and Villanova (23). UConn drops out. I would say , given how we have played so far , those 4 teams plus UCOnn and Creighton will finish ahead of us this season . Anybody have compelling opinion to the contrary ? I sincerely hope I am wrong but , at this point it ?

Not for anything, but one poster all but called me stupid for saying a few weeks back the Creighton and Providence would both be tough for us. I am certainly more than capable of saying stupid stuff, but I guess that wasn't one of those things.
