Looks like we need to be cheering for Nova and Marquette the rest of the way to keep sniping the teams on our tails. SJU and SH have the easiest schedule remaining. Gtown has the toughest. We basically control our own destiny for third place.

Just the other day I posted how unusual it would be to have only two teams over 500 and eight at 500 or less. Based on the prior informative posts it is also a possibility that only Vill and Marq finish over 500 with nobody else winning nine and playing 500 ball. Vill and Marq will probably not lose 7 more games combined and that could result in all other teams playing under 500. In that situation SJU would have to win 8 league games and hope their OOC opponents who were considered terrible at the beginning of the season continue to improve in order for SJU to get a bid.It would be interesting if a bid would be given to an 8 win third place finisher.
Of course beating Marq Tues and winning 4 more league games to get to 9 wins would make the situation a lot brighter.
Of course a win over Marq Tues would make things a lot brighter.

Villanova 9-0 1.000 18-4 0.818
Marquette 8-1 0.889 19-3 0.864
St. John's 4-5 0.444 16-6 0.727
Georgetown 4-5 0.444 14-8 0.636
Creighton 4-5 0.444 13-9 0.591
Seton Hall 4-6 0.400 13-9 0.591
DePaul 4-6 0.400 12-9 0.571
Butler 4-6 0.400 13-10 0.565
Providence 3-6 0.333 13-9 0.591

This is certainly a crazy year for the Big East. Not much separation after the top 2 teams. Of course, we could have easily been looped in with Marquette and Nova, had we not squandered the Nova game and got screwed in the Seton Hall game...

There’s is absolutely no excuse to not not go 6-3 in the remaining 9 games with the schedule that’s left and finish 22-9, 10-8. Anything less will be a complete disappointment.

#Jays injury update today:
• Marcus Zegarowski’s right hand will be in a cast for 7-10 days. They’ll then reevaluate after that
• Damien Jefferson & Connor Cashaw returned to practice but they’re still limited

Guess we root for PC and Nova. Higher nova is ranked better a win against them would be and probably better to play PC off a win than a loss as long as they aren't playing too well.

It gets tricky because right now @Creighton is a Quad1 win at #58 (1-75 on the road). Nova is comfortably a Quad1 home game (1-30 at home). We don’t want either to move too much down. I think we’re better off with Creighton winning since we already own a pair of wins over them.
Then again, we don’t want them catching us (but we do own the tie-breaker).

Just enjoy tonight's games and don't overthink them. There are cases for and against each of the 4 teams winning, so it doesn't really matter who wins.

Is there some way they both can lose? :) ;)
