Around the Big East 18/19

Conference play begins on Saturday, with our game, plus one other.

2:00 PM - Xavier at Depaul - FS1

There are also two nonconference games on the Saturday slate.

12 noon - Howard at Georgetown - FS1
4:00 PM - Butler at Florida - ESPNU

There are no Big East games on Sunday.

Watching X vs Depaul. Becoming very clear to me there’s no reason we shouldn’t be 4-0 in the games against these two. Although games against DePaul have not been kind to us through the years, we never seem to sweep them.

Hopefully, we can stay close to the top, then do some damage against these guys over the last three games.

Meh, not a great result obviously, but who cares? They were expected to lose anyways. Final OOC game (aside from ours vs Duke), and Big East had a strong finish to well position us as a 4-6 bid league. Nova's, Hall's and Marquette's wins were a lot more important.

For the rest of the regular season, St. John's is all that matters to me.

Closing out 2018 with some Big East action:

4:00 PM - Creighton at Providence - FS1

The SJU-Marquette game is the only Big East contest on New Year's Day.

Seton Hall finished 29th in today's AP Top 25 balloting with 24 points, one spot behind Villanova. Marquette is up to 16th. One vote for SJU & Michael Stephens 3 :)

LOL. Man, I can't believe we only have one vote (lost like 65...?). Whatever, doesn't matter since we obviously weren't going to crack it this week anyways.

I think we could actually make the rankings next week if we go 2-0. Can't get down on the last game. We've been fortunate to win a lot of close games this year. Time to look forward to all the opportunities we have ahead of us.

I have made a lot of ridiculous posts through the years and here’s another one. The definition of a conundrum, there is nothing to do but move on and moving on empowers liars like Ackerman, Jackson, and the refs to lie. I always thought the Singleton tech was the low point for me, no more. I believe it was Doc Butler who named this numero uno and I have to agree. Thought I was well past getting this worked up but evidently not.

If I thought there was even a one in a million chance that not moving on could change the result of the game, then I wouldn't move on. Unfortunately the result won't change. Cragg has spoken to the Big East, so I don't know what more we can do. If fans want to continue emailing Val then I'm all for it, but nothing will change. I'll actually send out an email right now to the league officials and Cragg. But then, after, I will be done stressing over it.

What I 100% do support is that the fan base comes out in full force every time we face one of these refs. Even 10 years from now. Every time they make a bad call. We can't change the past but we can change the future.

I understand there is nothing of substance to be done, that was the point if my post. I admire your zeal for the future, I just don’t share it.

We move from 28th in the ap to 38th, because of the refs, even going 2-0 won't put us in the top25, maybe 28th or even 27th.

Best we can do is move on and fill Carneseca arena for the Marquette game. Hopefully we knock them off. A top 25 win will look good on our resume and we can regain momentum.

That's the best thing the team can do. The best thing we can do is to keep this as an issue that doesn't fade till they admit that their refs made up the part about the clock.

they won't, they already tap danced around the issue.
