Around the Big East 18/19

Per Shannon Russell
HALF: Xavier 42, Seton Hall 38. Xavier has had its way with the Pirates' defense, and nobody has been able to stop Zach Hankins. He has a Xavier-career-high 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting with four boards.

A D2 6’11 Grad Transfer who had done nothing to date

I wish STJ had an unknown 6'11" grad transfer averaging 10 points and 5 boards. Whole lotta nuthin' going on.

Hopefully we knock them off. A top 25 win will look good on our resume and we can regain momentum.
That's the best thing the team can do. The best thing we can do is to keep this as an issue that doesn't fade till they admit that their refs made up the part about the clock.
they won't, they already tap danced around the issue.
If the Redmen enter the Duke game 20-1 and folks are still loud about it it might at least get the media interested in telling the story, especially if no one else is undefeated by then. ;)
That would mean we sweep the next 7 conference games, including 3 road games.
In this year of playing 5 on 6 against the Hall away...why not?!? :)

X-Men up 8 on the Hall. They are down talent wise but still a tough out. Xavier has a good program.

Hey, you seen how they played while pissed, blew the best B.E. team out by 20, I want them to stay pissed.
If they play like how they played last night in every game, then I believe we could be 20-1 heading to Duke.

Our statement to the B.E.

That’d be awesome, Oldschool. Never count these guys out.

SH over sub par Xavier, though nice road win in a tough venue. Williard doing great job in what many thought would be a transitional year.

And, their next two games are Depaul on the road, and Butler at home.

Not far fetched to think that they can be 4-0 in about a week's time. In fact, I'd say it's probable. Road to the Big East may go through Newark this year.

Also, this game, the game against us, and Kentucky, the opponents all looked winded at the end of the game. At some point, that has to be a reflection on them, not on their opponents.
Fun game to watch. Good road win in the grind that is the big east for SH
Road teams are 3-2 in Big East play so far.

Only our two games were won by the home team. Nothing is sacred this year.

I know it’s somewhat sacrilegious, but I’ve always liked and rooted for Willard’s SH teams. Probably my 2nd favorite team - although by a wide margin :)

Gtown up comfortably over Butler. This kid Malinowski (believe he is a transfer from William & Mary) having a huge game hitting threes starting for the injured McClung.

They're already the most talented team in the B.E. so they're good, but when playing with a purpose you can play a whole lot better.
This pissed us off, but at the end of the year we might be thanking that ref for motivating the team even more.

DePaul leading Nova 30-22, 1st half, at Nova. BD led by 14 I think at one point, 2 straight 3s by Nova.

Seton Hall has had our # for awhile. Now, they’ve got the refs on their side! Lol.
As much as being snake it against them miffs me, got to say I’ve always admired Willard’s work there.
I think and hope, we’re due to prevail against them the rest of this year, but they’re a team that doesn’t quit.
That’s the coach.

It’s still strange seeing the DePaul Blue Demons in red uniforms. Kind of like our blue jerseys a few years ago.
