Around the Big East 18/19

I Must say that I'm somewhat jealous watching these BE teams play big-time opponents. We need to do this in the future.

This is why I really like how we matchup with nova this year. They just don’t have that late game killer on their team this season. If we just keep it close down the stretch against them. We have a Shamorie and they don’t

Cosby-Roundtree is weak in the middle. He got like 4 or 5 offensive rebounds right under the basket and couldn’t go up strong and get the put back.

I hope Coach Mullin and staff closely watch the Villanova offense which consists of more than merely passing the ball around the perimeter and taking a long shot from beyond the 3.

Funny cause I can count on one hand how many good looks nova even got this half.

I could ask how many fingers and hands you have on which to count but if you believe that Villanova's offense throughout this and other games resembles StJohn's then there is not much I can say.

I’m not saying they resemble each other at all I just don’t think this game exemplifies the point you are trying to make.

Nova shot 8-28 from 3. They had few to no ideas on the offensive end in the 2nd half.

But yea nova is definitely better coached team, no doubt. Jay Wright’s been doing this for like 20 years. They should be. Didn’t stop us from beating them in philly last year and it won’t stop us from beating them this year. And that’s all I care about

Man, does it ever stop! We are not Nova OBVIOUSLY, Chris Mullin is not Jay Wright and it took Wright a decade at Nova to become Jay Wright!! And if you have been impressed by Nova’s offensive scheme today, which was basically pass the ball around until Gillespie or Booth went one on whatever I don’t know what game you watched. And I am not knocking Wright, that is the way most teams play now. Kansas did nothing tactically earth shattering either, they just had better players and made a couple more plays.

Guess it had nothing to do with playing against the number one team in the nation. Same as playing against Mount St. Joan's or M St. Mary's or whoever.

Kansas is #1 but also missing a star, Azubukie. They should’ve lost to Stanford at home a week or two ago but Stanford choked, and they beat New Mexico St in Kansas City by a whopping 3 points.

Also, this isn’t the only nova game I’ve watched this year. They’ve lost to Furman and Penn. beat an 0-8 La Salle team by 7. So no, them playing Kansas is not the sole reason they didn’t look great on offense, it’s been all year

They also average 29 3’s a game so they basically took their average today, which, by the way, is 5 more attempts a game than we do. But the real point is most teams play strategically the same way, keep the floor spread to create lanes to drive and shoot 3’s. We play that way with a lot less discipline than most teams though.

I don't feel like reading through all the arguing above to see if this was posted yet, but Jahvon Quinerly didn't play at all on this game according to the box score. I don't know if this was pre-planned as punishment for the tweet or not.

As for the tweet itself, I don't think it was bad at all. The apology seemed over-the-top. It basically amounted to a compliment of a local team that just won.
