Around the Big East 18/19

Damn. This is legitimately one of the best college basketball games I’ve seen in some time. Both teams just executing everything on offense
Creighton is going to have to go on a run soon. Gonzaga is starting to take control, but a long way to go.
Gonzaga is just too good. This guy Norvell is insane. He destroyed duke too. They should go undefeated all year.

They play UNC in Chapel Hill in two weeks. If they survive that game undefeated (they have a couple of mini-tough games in between, that they should survive), they have a very good chance of entering the NCAA Tournament with an unblemished record.

Interestingly Gonzaga basically went 6 deep with 2 more getting single digit minutes.

Markus Howard with 45 points for Marquette today.

IMO, Marquette is the Big East team that most mirrors us. They do it with guards and outside shooting. Where they have a leg up on us, is the fact that their group has played together longer. Where we have a leg up, IMO, is that we are better on defense.

Should be a fun night at Carnesecca on January 1st.

64-52 win for St Louis over Butler. FYI, Hassan French with 9 points, 9 rebounds for StL.

Tough loss for Seton Hall. Fun game. Say what you want about Willard. He is resilient and he gets the most out of what he has.

EDIT: if we had their big guy, we would be top 25 already

Why the hell is that game at Carnesecca and not MSG?

My exact thoughts when I saw it. The Big East should force a flex to the Garden.

I would love to pack out CA for that game and really make it a loud atmosphere and tough place to play... but students on break so it’ll be tough

Mike, it's possible but Marquette has two more tough games before BE starts - Wisconsin & Buffalo. Given that they have 2 losses now, would likely have to win both of those games to be in top 25 (at least one of them for sure). At least they are both at home.

Markus Howard beats out Shamorie Ponds for Big East Player of week. Ponds makes honor roll #sjubb

Maybe Howard was the best player, but Ponds was the most valuable.

AJ Reeves is the @BIGEASTMBB Rookie of the Week for the third time in four weeks. He's the Big East's top freshman scorer (13.8 ppg.) and is shooting 48 percent from 3-point range.

Future star imo
