Around the Big East 18/19

The Big East resumes with 3 games tonight, including St. John's.

The other two are:

8:00 PM - Charleston Southern at Marquette - YES (tape delayed broadcast at 11 pm)
8:30 PM - FDU at Providence - FS1

4 Big East games on Wednesday.

6:30 PM - Miami (OH) at Xavier - FS1
7:00 PM - Richmond at Georgetown - CBS Sports Network
8:00 PM - Cleveland State at Depaul - FS2
8:30 PM - Montana at Creighton - FS1

After this, the Big East goes dark on Thursday and Friday, before a great slate of games takes place on Saturday.

Xavier lost a lot, but they are going to be a handful as the year goes on. Just a super program. I think they will be in top 5-6 BE at worst.

So happy to see Patrick turning this great program around a bit. He is one of the hardest workers you could want and will never fail for lack of effort.

Creighton leads Montana 49-40 at Half.

This team can score in bunches, really respect them & their coach.

Richmond was also missing their 2nd and 3rd best scorers (both are injured).

Share the anti-Hoya sentiment, but this year more than ever, we need to see that other BE teams are doing well and recruiting well. I loathe Seton Hall, but still found myself pulling for them in recent OOC games.

Believe this is the thread I posted on about a week ago about meeting Jamal Branch. Another poster asked what he was up to these days as he thought he was playing over seas. Couldn't answer at the time but told him I would inquire and I found out that presently he is not playing anywhere but is looking to. Difficult to find a team as he hasn't been playing for a while.

Saturday is a monster day for the Big East. There are many good matchups, including our game with Georgia Tech.

12 noon - Oakland at Xavier - FS1
12 noon - Louisville at Seton Hall - FOX
2:00 PM - Gonzaga at Creighton - FOX
2:30 PM - Kansas St. at Marquette - FS1
3:00 PM - Villanova vs. Lasalle, from the Palestra - ESPN2
5:00 PM - Butler at St. Louis - FCS Atlantic (this is the only New York listing - out of market, you may find it on a local station)
5:00 PM - Rhode Island at Providence - FS1

The Big East then takes a well-deserved day off on Sunday.

Wow I was so wrong about Creighton. They look SO good. I don't know if they will hold out it is early but they are dominating #1 Gonzaga and currently look like the top 2 team in the Big East making adjustments and making big plays.

of course as soon as I post that they start slacking on defense and spectating on rebounds and Gonzaga takes the lead...

Damn. This is legitimately one of the best college basketball games I’ve seen in some time. Both teams just executing everything on offense

Creighton is going to have to go on a run soon. Gonzaga is starting to take control, but a long way to go.

Marquette up by 11 at the half, against #12 Kansas St.

Villanova is down by 11 late in the first half, against 0-7 LaSalle.
