Around the Big East 18/19

3 Big East games Saturday.

12 noon - Depaul at Notre Dame - ESPN3
12 noon - Campbell at Georgetown - YES (tape delayed broadcast at 6 pm)
4:00 PM - Iona at Providence - YES

It didn't last. Notre Dame blew them out in the second half. 95-70 final.

That leaves a certain New York City team as the only unbeaten left in the Big East.

Thanks, think I'll turn off the Iron Bowl smack in the middle to watch a delayed telecast of G'town vs the Fighting Camels of Campbell University. :) :) :) :) :)

Georgetown won by 8, but it might be worth watching just for the performance of Campbell's Chris Clemons.

45 points, including 9 made 3 pointers (in 19 attempts). He's averaging 31.6 PPG (don't know if that includes today's performance), so he'll certainly be in the running for the nation's top scorer this year.

Can't wait until he transfers to St. John's.

He's a senior unfortunately. It's amazing to me that he hasn't transferred since he's been too good for that level from day one.

Off-topic and won’t last, but UMASS giving Nevada a game late in the 1st Half, down 6, 54-48.
Should’ve been a flagrant foul against Cody Martin, but announcers called it a great play!

Campbell is a nice pretty little college. Maybe he likes it there and it isn’t all about basketball.

Nah, there are other players who are better than him.;) :)

Watching Northwestern vs Utah and they flashed on the screen that the Big East has a .732 winning percentage so far. That’s good for fourth overall. ACC was first and the BIG 10 was second. I forgot who was third , they flashed it quickly. Still not bad considering. They didn’t mention anything about strength of schedule or anything, just winning percentage.

With the Nova win they dropped one in Kenpom to 16. FSU up to 14 with the loss and St Johns dropped one spot to 46 for good measure. Rutgers @ 101, VCU 113, GTech @78 currently will be our highest rated non-conf opponent before BEC play starts. Duke on the road at #1 will definitely help win or lose even if they drop a few before then.

[ol]In conf currently:
[li]Nova: 16[/li]
[li]Butler: 29 [/li]
[li]Creighton: 34 [/li]
[li]Marq: 36[/li]
[li]SJU: 46: [/li]
[li]SHU: 57[/li]
[li]Prov: 59[/li]
[li]X: 62[/li]
[li]DeP: 80[/li]
[li]G'T: 89[/li]
[/ol]

Big East was third in RPI heading into today (ACC #4) , and with Nova's win that should improve even if Hall loses.

Might not even be that much of a down year. Has been a really good week for the Big East.

ACC's winning percentage is a joke. Undefeated teams like NC State and Pitt have only played cupcakes. No conference challenges for them yet, either.
