Around the Big East 18/19

I’m watching Xavier vs Illinois now. Xavier up 2 at the half. I can’t listening to Bill Walton anymore. The nonsense that comes out of his mouth.

With Butler losing to Dayton tonight, the only two teams in the Big East with undefeated overall records are Depaul, and St. John's.

Let that sink in for a moment.
It's the '80s all over again!

5-0 is great, but we haven't played Kansas, Michigan, Auburn, etc...We have to make sure we don't get upset OOC. Sometimes you can gain more by losing to these top teams than beating cupcakes for 2 months. Hopefully we'll be ok because we have enough talent to actually compete with better teams.

Smoke a joint, put on a Dead album for background noise, grab a bag of Fritos and Walton will begin to sound like the great philosopher that he is.;) :)

What a crummy start for SHU. I can't read their message board but I'm sure they are going nuts. Only one player in double figures?

Boy this kid Alexander has really blossomed for Creighton with Foster & Thomas no longer doing most of the backcourt work. Averaging 19 ppg through 6 games as a soph after averaging 6 last year. Big win for Creighton last night.

Creighton does great job identifying kids with potential and developing them. Continuity is their hallmark.

Three games on Thanksgiving Day.

1:30 PM - Villanova vs. Canisius, from Disney World - ESPN2
9:00 PM - Seton Hall vs. Grand Canyon, from Fullerton, CA - ESPN3
9:30 PM - Butler vs. Middle Tennessee, Battle 4 Atlantis - I've seen both ESPN2 and ESPNU listed for this. My listings say ESPN2, but Butler's website has ESPNU.

4 Big East games on Black Friday.

11:30 AM - Villanova vs. Oklahoma State, from Disney World - ESPN (though my listings say ESPN2, but I believe that's wrong)
7:00 PM - Marquette vs. Louisville, from Brooklyn, NY - ESPN2
9:30 PM - Butler vs. Florida, Battle 4 Atlantis - ESPNU
11:30 PM - Seton Hall vs. Hawai'i, from Fullerton, CA - ESPN2

Myles Powell had outstanding performance last night...

12-of-16 (5-7 from 3 pt) , with 7 reb, 4 assists 2 steals, 1 TO.

Think we put a mix of Heron and LJ on him.
.

Good win for Big East today, Villanova blew out Oklahoma State (#52 KenPom) by 21.

A big man developing? Please explain.
Marquette over Louisville by 3 in OT
Good win for Marquette, but if there is anyway Louisville could file a protest, they should do it.

Why was that shot, from 2 feet behind the line that was called a 2, not reviewed? Understand that everything would have changed if called correctly, but Louisville was still robbed on that one.

Boohoo.... Boohoo for Loui$ville coach Chris Mack.
The reality is there were missed calls at both end of the court for each team.

Butler beat Florida 61-54.

This was a good day for the Big East with wins over Louisville, Florida and Oklahoma State.

Seton Hall also beat Hawaii in late action, so perfect day for the Big East. The wins over the past few days were much needed!
