Around the Big East 18/19
Providence over BC in OT. Great game ... but, man, that "color guy" whoever he was, he sure was pro-BC, criticizing every call by the refs that went PC;s way. Anyway, good win for a BE team. (Gotta say, I look at BC and think, What the hell are they doing in the ACC.)
Former BC guard Malcolm Huckaby, so he gets a pass. Our own Tarik Turner gets his turn to root on his alma mater tonight with Dave Sims calling the action against the mighty Mountaineers.
It is pretty damn disappointing to see Reeves and David Duke have such a huge impact as freshmen on that team. I wish we had freshmen making a similar impact. Oh well.
PC lost Cartwright, Bullock, and Lindsey. Most of their scoring from last year. They have a lot of space to fill. Hence the freshman playing. We lost who? If we had Reeves and Duke, who would you start them over? Get real bra

3 Big East games for Wednesday, December 5th, not counting St. John's.

6;30 PM - Ohio U. at Xavier - FS1
7:00 PM - Brown at Butler - YES (tape delayed broadcast at 10:30 PM)
8:30 PM - Temple at Villanova - FS1

There is no Big East action on Thursday.

Nova vs Temple is an interesting one. Temple has played a similar schedule to us beating Cal and losing to VCU.

Anyone have any idea how much Patrick Ewing weighs? I believe he is the biggest human being I've seen on the sidelines!

Above the navel alone Patrick weighs around 400 lbs

Providence led UMASS by 20 late in the first half. Now down by 1, with 2:15 to go.

EDIT: Providence by 1. 26 seconds to go.

Wow..what a comeback by UMASS in last five min.

They were hungry and played team ball.

That center is a wide load....

And this is why I rarely gamble. I’m currently in Vegas. I decided to drop a few bucks on our Big East brethren. Up 18 at the half, I’m happy as a clam. The rest is history. I hope the Friars lose every conference game this year.

That was a fun game actually.

Matt McCall is a really good young head coach at UMASS. He is going to be one to watch in a few years.

But you want to understand how good a coach John Calipari is. That guy won 5 straight A10 regular season and conference titles and was in order a 3, 3, 2, 2 and 1 seed in those 5 years in the NCAAs at UMASS. And they have not done squat since....

For your sake, at least they got beat outright. Would have been more heartbreaking if they had hung on for the win, while not covering the spread.

How did the PC freshmen guards impact the game?
