Around the Big East 18/19
Yo, Nova is really about to lose right now. Down 67-63 with 3 minutes left.
Unfortunately for the Big East Nova will not be ranked likely for the rest of the season.

dont like seeing Nova losing but furthering my opinion this is a down year for the conference and by big east conference play we should be wrecking these teams assuming Keita comes back healthy and even then we have the fire power to pay back a lot of teams this year

I was all in for all the BE teams all week but when Furman is beating Villanova no way I could pull for Nova.

Great win for Furman and obviously Villanova has a lot of work to do before conference play. The Big East looks as wide open as it has been since its current incarnation. Should be a fun season.
Eric Paschall is a fine complementary player, but I thought pundits way overrated him this season. Having seen him in high school, Fordham & Nova, I believe he is a solid undersized power player, but not capable of putting this team on his shoulders & leading them to great heights. I just don’t think he is in the class of the former key Nova guys now in NBA.

Secondly, Gillespie is not Arcidiacono, as you could see when Michigan abused him by posting him up often. Jay Wright will get the best out of these guys, but obviously you can’t have a vintage team annually. He also has one of top recruiting classes for next year, so consider this a bit of a “successful transition year” imo.

Maybe I will be wrong, but I see a lot of parity in the BE & teams reloading. I believe this could be a season with 3 or 4 teams dancing.
Some were even touting him as potential player of the year. Not BE, ncaa poy.

Yeah, it sucks seeing the Big East down like this, but still plenty of OOC games to get some big wins. The rest of the league aside from Nova has been decent. It's really just Nova that is surprisingly bad.

If SJU is as good as we all expect and finishes at the top, obviously I'd be thrilled about that without really caring how the conference does.
College hoops is a great game
The first 2 days of the NCAA tourney are like watching the excitement of the Kentucky Derby, except it's 48 hours of thrills instead of 2 minutes.

St. Louis is up by double digits against Seton Hall.

Just don’t tell us Hassan French is having a double double. Would not go over well with this board.
Matt Rafferty > 17 rebounds for Furman
Nova took 44 three-point attempts...that's a lot. Not sure if that's good or bad...but wow
I thought we were bombing away on Friday night, but we only took 32.
Very bad loss for Nova and the Big East. Furman is a young team, excluding Rafferty. Even their coach is only 35.
It's cool to see the state school (Greenville, SC) pick up a win against 'Nova. Kudos!

It's time for St.John's to step up and do something for the conference. Us actually being good can save face for the entire conference in a s rebuilding year. I don't buy Marquette being anything more than a 9 seed. We need at least one team in the Sweet 16.
